Reading over Dondaboomvape’s “Wonderful World” thread, and watching the linked video of Leaford demonstrating his at-the-time top five, I concluded that Vapor4life’s “Vapor King” looked the most like the disposable that made me think this e-cig thing could work. I ordered it. I didn’t think it was as good as the disposable, but it was close, and much better than the Smoking Everywhere.
From there it was all exploration on ECF, trying different juices, trying different atties, trying different mods, and etc. I tried 801, 901, 510, and KR808D-1. I tried juices from Dekang, V4L, Tasty Vapor, Totally Wicked, Decadent, and etc. I tried different voltages on the V4L pass-thru, the Chuck and the original Prodigy.
After a lot of trying stuff, I decided that I liked the KR at 5 volts best. The KR didn’t leak, it performed almost as well as the 510 at 3.7 volts, and though it burned on the Chuck at 6 volts, it was a pretty dang good on the Prodigy at 5 volts. Different models had different advantages, but I’m the opposite of a pack-rat and I can’t stand clutter, so I just had to settle on one “best” device and one “best” atty – and for me that was the KR808D-1. That only solidified further with the advent of the LR “Premium” KRs from V4L. It was later that it got through my hard head that there doesn’t have to be a the-one-best-e-cig.
Then I continued through the stages of…something. Sorry if I’m long winded and full of ...... Lets just call it the stages. We don’t need an “of” anything.
First was discovery, my Smoking Everywhere and Gamucci experience. Then was education, which started with ECF and the Wonderful World thread. Then was experimentation – having to try every atty, juice and voltage to find the mythical vape of the unicorn. Then was the I-know-so-much-I-have-to-share stage, where I saturated the forum with my wisdom, also known as my opinion, for awhile. Then I settled down into reality, where I realized that there isn’t a one best e-cig, juice, vendor or dau of the vapor, and came to understand that this is new tech and it changes so fast that, even if there were a best e-cig today, it would be different tomorrow.
Now that I’m in the reality stage, I’m just chillin’. I don’t have the time, money, energy, or interest to continue trying every new vape in the world, though I’ll continue to try new things here and there. I don’t need to be a guru, I’m happy to just try what I want to, chat it up on the forum, disappear for awhile, and resurface when the mood to try new things or chat strikes. I’m in that mood now, which is why, being bored today anyway, I’m bothering to blog, which has not been my modus operandi.
I still find it interesting how such a small and simple pleasure as inhaling and exhaling a tasty cloud of vapor can be motivating enough to get me posting on a forum or even writing a blog post at all. Simple relaxing pleasure is a powerful thing.
