Vaping with Ki: Introduction and Caterpillar RDA.

Hello, and welcome. This blogs intended purpose is to give honest reviews and personal opinions about a variety of vaping topics. My name is Ki (pronounced like pie but with a K) and I will be your host on this journey through the vape world.
So today I have a review for yall, I'm going to be talking about the Caterpillar RDA by Smok. In all my reviews I will be covering three basic categories for every item, and then type specific categories where applicable. I will always cover Quality Control, Ease of Use/How to Use, and Price Point/Value. All right, now the intro is out of the way, so lets jump in.

The Caterpillar RDA is one of Smoks older atomizers, but even so, its hard to find many reviews for it. It's design is simple, along standard lines for RDAs in its era, with a stainless steel finish and a bronze or brass AFC ring. The build deck isn't very large, and the posts are downright tiny, giving the illusion of a larger deck to build with. That being said, you will not be able to fit wire much larger that 26awg through the miniscule post holes.
All in all, the quality was average, it was clean out if the box. One rinse and dry took any residue off immediately. The construction was clean, no shavings or burrs left on the device, and the 510 threading, though a little dirty, was smooth. The top cap and AFC ring are very sturdy, and the tolerance of fit is just about perfect. However the very for build I installed caused my center post hole to rotate, and even tightening the gold plated screw with a little bit of tension spun the post right around. In total I give the Caterpillar a 6/10 for quality.

The Caterpillar is at its core, the basic RDA. Post holes just big enough for single wire or at most twisted 28awg wire. This makes it easy to use for beginners who aren't doing complicated builds. This, coupled with a single piece top cap with a simple AFC ring makes this a perfect atomizer for anybody who is just beginning to rebuild. Ease of use: 8/10

In my opinion the Caterpillar is a decent RDA. Not the best by any means, but also not the worst. What makes this RDA shine is the price point. This device rings up a grand total of $12.99 from the source. Some B&Ms have it a little higher, but I've never seen this priced higher than $15. Price for the quality:10/10

In conclusion, the Caterpillar RDA by Smok is an excellent device for people who want to try rebuilding for the first time, and it won't break the bank if you decide you don't like it. Overall score from me is 7/10.
