Someone wrote me saying something about Rob O'neil being the "Modfather."
It got me thinking... 1st what comes to mind is the Great Movie "The Godfather."
Next, we have the meaning of "Godfather" which is someone who will become parent of a child in the event that both parents die. So this is a very important position in several Religions including: Christianity and Judaism.
So in looking for overall "Modfather" the "Godfather" rules are in effect. What we want to know is : Who was the originator of Modding at the beginning of this vaping thing that started almost 3 years ago... and then... who is the "Modfather" today, July 18, 2011.
And to be "Real" we must state that there is not just 1.
For me, starting 2 years ago, it was Trogg and the "SD." I bought 2 of them when that 1 bat of 3.7 volts lasted most of the day when all there was.... were Chinese bats that looked like cigs.
Next... came Imeo.. and he had the "GGT." I bought one from him. That gave the ability to have two 3 volt bats in 1 mod making this a more powerful vape.
After that and during that Cisco was the Modfather of "Adapters." He took my good bats, chopped them up and made me some adapters at a time when you could not buy them.
Then came AltSmoke, Rob and the "SB." When I saw Terraphon (Rob) and his video where he could not handle the vapor, that was an important item. And getting to know Rob also showed him to be Modfather material.
On the next wave were a lot of people who now joined the fray... too many for me to say that any 1 person is the Modfather of today. Rob O'neil is the Modfather of fine wood and Tom Buss is the Modfather of fine wood that you pick from scratch.
Ultimately, the Chinese were the original Modfathers as they got started on this about 5 years ago.
I harken back to an article that said "vaping is like smoking buts from an ashtray."
To those of us that know what vaping is, we know it is the greatest invention since.... cigarettes!
So, I leave it to each one of you to pick who you think is YOUR Modfather. Today, just about anyone can be. We have a growing population of vaping people and more and more people are stepping up to the plate to be Modfather.
What you need is the ability to create, electrical knowhow and... joining and participating in a Forum, such as this one, ECF. When you just blog as I am doing, you never know who will read what you are writing. I don't have anything to sell you... but if I did, here is where I would start.
It takes time as Rob Oneil would say if he remembers how slow it was at first. Now he has workers and hundreds of thousands of people reading his posts.
The theory of Y to the X is appropriate here. When you take an item you make that is "Y" and then talk about it all over the Forums, you then put the "X" into play and where that goes, nobody knows. But if what you have is a good item, not like some that have come and gone (I own many of these "Turkeys"), you may be the next "Modfather!"
