So I like helping n00bs. I like helping new members. But I'm really getting sick of spending so much time writing the same thing out for 15 minutes to every new member on ECF. SO, I want to be able to link new members to a blog post where I've listed everthing. Here it is:
Welcome to vaping. know you'll enjoy vaping a lot more than cigarettes. While cigarettes may have melted into your life, your every day schedule, you probably smoked them one by one, one after the other, without even noticing the flavor or the nicotine buzz. You were just plain addicted. With vaping, it becomes a hobby, you'll love the flavors, you can step down your nic for a day, then up it when your feeling nervous, and your just going to love Vaping more than smoking, I promise. So here goes:
JUICE: Juice is a bit complicated. Taste is subjective to the individual. 1 person may love a certain juice and another will hate it. 1 strawberry will taste like strawberry to you, it'll taste like concentrated cough syrup to me. 1 day you'll love a juice, the next month u might not. you can get tired of them. Never fear, you'll have a bunch eventually. lol.
THROAT HIT: Throat hit is relative mostly to nicotine content. The higher the nicotine content, the harder the throat hit. Most that want a strong TH use 16/18mg juices.
NICOTINE LEVEL: Most websites sell 0mg, 6mg or 8mg, 11mg or 12mg, 16mg or 18mg, 24mg, and some even sell 34mg. (34mg is for making your own juices and isn't recommendable to vape undiluted) I vape 11/12mg most of the day, I like to vape 18 or 16mg when I'm really craving a good throat hit, or when I'm stressed, or right when I awaken, to wake myself up and fix my nic fit quickly. For the most part, I like 11/12mg juice. I'll vape 6mg juice if I'm having trouble sleeping and I still need a vape. K? A lot of ECF members are going to recommend you go with 24 or 18mg juices at first. I disagree. You should start with samples of each level of nicotine to learn what u like. When I vape even a few puffs of 24mg, my heart feels like its gonna explode. When I chain vape 16 to 18mg juice, the same thing happens. When I vape 11 to 12mg juice, it feels just right. It feels like I've hit the spot that I was used to when smoking. So, keep that in mind when buying your juice and dont listen to the idiots on the forum that say "the more nicotine the better!" they are.... well, in my opinion? idiots. haha.
Soon you'll know which companies have the best juices and you'll develop a taste for either sweet or savory juices... You'll find your "all day vape" and then you'll find more and more all day vapes, after dinner vapes, and favorites that you'll save for under the covers before bed and around the fire or furnace vent on a cold winters night in your favorite comfy chair. Yummm. Sure, its an addiction/hobby, but its a GOOD addiction/hobby. It won't end up killing you. Step down your juices slowly, very slowly. If you begin to pick up the vaporizer more, then step down your juice so that you can vape more without getting a nicotine headache, get it? You also may want to invest in a good low (6mg or around there) juice for before bed so that you can vape without becoming too stimulated to fall to sleep. Some of my favorite juices are from BackwoodsBrew.com I love their tobacco juices they are very clean and crisp out of the mailbox, and after allowing them to steep for 1-2 weeks, they become more complex because the flavors come out and melt together after they've sat around for a while. Steeping is basically allowing air to mix with the juice. Some people like to keep their new juices in a cold dark place with the cap off for a few days, then they replace the cap, fill a bucket with warm water, let the bottle sit in there for 30 min, and then let it sit for a few days. Those steps are known to speed up the process of steeping.
Some of my favorite companies are: backwoodsbrew.com: The Leading Backwoods Brew Site on the Net Madvapes LLC - E Cigarettes, Electronic Cigarettes, Vaping Supplies (madvapes is CHEAP but a lot of good flavors there) Ms T's Bakery Essentials Welcome to Copper Creek - Online Store and www.momandpopbakeshop.com & VaporBomb.com
Some of the forum's favorite juice companies are: Heathers Heavenly Vapes, Top Quality Custom E-Liquids www.aliceinvapeland.com High Desert Age Test shop.bluemistvaping.com (bluemist is really fairly priced, as are all the companies i listed as my faves) Alien Visions E-Juice Pink Spot Vapors: Gourmet E-liquid & Signature E-Juice Flavors Welcome to Ahlusion E Cig Juice @ *_Highbrow Vapor_* - E Liquid Store, Shop our Store for Ecig Products.
[All of the companies listed above, including my favorites, are GREAT! I personally dislike some of ave's juices, and some of vaporbomb's tobaccos, but other than that, they are all considered to be the best juice companies out there!]
All complex juices (this includes tobaccos or any juice that has more than 1 flavor in it) should steep 1 to 2 weeks from the time it gets to your mailbox. This is because when you order juice, the companies make it fresh as soon as u make ur order, so the flavors nee time to meld.
Some of the flavorite flavors of the forum are:
RY4 (probably the most popular tobacco flavor. A sweet vanilla caramel tobacco)
(RY4 is 1 of my personal favorite all-day vapes)
Snickerdoodle (buttery sweet cinnamon cookie)
GorillaJuice (A ripe banana flavor with tiny, slight, hints of light tobacco) from Ave
BobasBounty (A light tobacco flavor from Ave)
[i dont particularly love Ave juices, but the forum does. They r 2 thick & too light 4 me)
Applewood Tobacco from BackwoodsBrew
(Self explainatory. My personal favorite after dinner vape is Applewood Tobacco from BWB)
A lot of people love coffee flavors because you can vape them all day and not get tired.
I feel the same way about a lot of baked goods.
Pinkspot by PinkspotVapors
Banana flavors are also extremely popular on the web for whatever reason. Theyre just good!
I like pound cake and tobacco flavors myself. A lot of tobaccos (most if I say so myself) actually don't taste a lot like tobacco. If you begin vaping them, you'll get used to that. They are usually a savory and smokey, dry, woodsy flavor, sometimes with vanilla/caramel tones.
As for personal vaporizers- The Bloog and the Volt are the most "popular" small cigarette styled device. But I don't recommend starting with a small cigarette styled device. The batteries in them are simply too small and they aren't powerful enough to deliver a consistently strong throat hit or consistent vapor production. 85 to 90% of people that stick with vaping and stick to visiting the forums move on to bigger battery devices. The "eGo" is a cigarette style device that truly performs well. You can pick up a kit at madvapes and some of the juice vendors above for good prices. The eGo devices are reliable and powerful enough to stick with. They are about the size of a sharpie if you get the 1500mAh, about size of a 100 cigarette (sharpie width) at 600mAh, and about the size of a short cigarette (sharpie fat) if you get the 400mAh. The bigger the mAh, the longer the battery life.
For instance, a cig styled device like the 510 is only 350mAh and only 3.5 volts. Not great. These will last 2.5, maybe 3 to 4 hours max if your vaping at a regular pack a day cig smoking behavior. The Bloog and Volt are slightly longer, and they are more around 400mAh, like the 400mAh eGo. Both the Bloog/Volt cig styled devices, and the eGos are 3.7 volt devices... However, the 400mAh ego is a bigger battery and it can handle lower resistance cartomizers and atomizers... lol. (I know, this can be confusing, bear with me and just take reading this nice and slow so that you can soak this all in)
OK so the Bloog and the Volt are smaller, cigarette sized devices.. Their battery life is shorter between charges compaired to the eGos. However, they are the same VOLT as the eGo devices. (unlike the cigarette sized 510 devices. U generally want to stay away from the 510 devices. They are small and low powered. Bad. lol) BUT, while the Bloog and Volt are more powerful, they don't hold a charge as long as eGos and they CAN'T handle low resistance cartomizers and atomizers.
Cartomizers and Atomizers are the Vaporizing unit of a device. They are the heating element. They contain metal coils that heat the liquid and vaporize it into vapor. A cartomizer has a fiber fill and it can hold 2ml of e-juice. An ATOMizer is just the heating element, which you drip your juice directly onto after every few puffs.
