My opinions for ecig beginners (Part 2 of 2)

One last comment that I made to Amber the other day... it's good to get gear that someone else also has when you are starting up. It's easier to answer questions AND if you forgot to get enough backups and something dies, you can hit up your buddy for a loaner until you can order a replacement.

So a quick summery because that was a bunch of me yammering.

  • buy more than 1 battery. I was a half pack a day+ smoker and was ok with the 2 1100mah EGO Twists. If you want smaller batteries, like the 650mah or smaller you may want to get 3 so you can always have a charged backup ready to go.
  • Make sure you get a charger! If you get a starter kit it will usually include one. If you buy piece mail as I did you will need to buy one seperately. I also just bought extras from China for my car, and other rooms. Buy 1 should do just fine to start.
  • Get a few tanks. I like having them filled with different juices so I can switch based on my situation. Plus you have backup in case of trouble. I would suggest at least 2. I started with 3-5, I forget, but have almost a dozen now.
  • Have replacement atty/coil heads on hand. They will eventually burn out. When they do it is NASTY. By dripping atty died the other day and the vape I got was awful on my lungs lol. At least have 5 as I suggested.
  • Take advantage of e-juice sales. Best way to cheaply sample flavors IMO. Once you get you flavor palette figured out then you can buy larger quantities from you favorite website. Also it pays off to do a quick read about 'steeping'. It was something I missed when I started and explains why some highly rated juices arrive tasting odd. Google it or find it in ECF.

Enjoy and check for those coupons before you buy anything online!

PS – FastTech. I almost forgot about this website. CHEAP SCHWAG YO! So you will eventually hear about them. Buyer beware as this is a company in China. First of all do not order anything for startup from here unless you want to wait the 2-4 weeks to get it. I would use them for secondary purchases once you have a better idea what you're getting into. My first purchase from them is about 3 weeks and still waiting (in CA sort facility right now). The other caution is this site is FULL of knockoffs. Not that knockoffs are always bad, some can actually be of better quality than the original. Read the reviews (there and on ECF) before purchasing anything. For example I just ordered 2 more EGOs, but only bought the ones that were labled as authentic Joyetech as the others mostly had bad reviews. ECF even has a FastTech (FT as you may see it there) thread if you have questions you can go there. I would also suggest if you do get into MODs, do not order the 18650/18350 batteries from them.

PPS – Youtube. If you're into watching reviews and tutorials rather than reading Jim turned me onto these 2 guys. My favorite is Pete Busardo (Pbusardo). He also has a decent website. I would subscribe to him for sure. The other is Grimm Green (GrimmGreen). He's a little dopey for me, but full of good information if you can get through the goofiness. Based on Jim's advice and their reviews is what got me started with the setup explained above.
