Re-Build Pro Tank Mini - Replace Wicks Only?

Hi All -

I will be rebuilding, as soon as my Kanthal arrives. In the meantime, if the coil itself is still good, can I just replace the flavor wicks and the wick that runs through the coil with cotton from a cotton ball?

Does this make sense?

Yes, you can. It can be difficult to get the cotton through the coil without messing up the coil, but it can be done.

Thank you. Organic cotton, correct? It should not be just "100%" cotton?

I just use regular cotton balls and boil them a few times.

I have had no flooding issues. Easy to do and great results. I don't put the flavor wicks back in, just cotton through the coil. Good luck!

Yes, you can. It can be difficult to get the cotton through the coil without messing up the coil, but it can be done.

It can be even more difficult to get the silica wick out without breaking the coil in the process. It can be done - but not always with a working coil remaining.
