  • I'm really hoping to NOT end up being a collector, which is part of the reason I'm really trying to find something I'm going to be happy with from the beginning to the end.
Have a been a volunteer addiction counselor for well over 10 yrs. It's part and parcel of an addiction to be looking for the next best thing/ a stronger hit. Many call it a hobby and that's their business. It usually happens to many of us and that's why I set up a budget. As far as a hobby I encourage vapers to get into DIY cuz it's allows them to experiment/ move forward and is quite the $$ saver so if wanting to buy something that's new they needn't feel guilty about it.
Have seen and bought many starter kits and usually they all have a "weak" link/ low quality parts. For all the China bashing the best kit I ever bought was from fasttech- A Vamo V3, Nitecore Charger and 2 great Panasonic batteries- $57.00 incl delivery. Also bought another 8 Panasonic batts for $40 incl delivery...regular price here at the time would've been about $80.
It's a good choice and if you tire of the Provari it does holds its value quite well. As far as Provape and its Fanboys I'm really not impressed with some of the low quality garbage they sell- chargers, clones, certain batteries. Did you know that the much hyped "AW" battery is run by one Chinese dude. He finds the best batts and re wraps them in his own wrapper and charges a premium. Last year he was re wrapping Pansonics- nowadays I don't know.
Have heard good things about the AeroTank. For the Provari looks wise you want the larger one (not the mini)
You're welcome. I sold the Provari because I had a budget and wanted to get other "toys". If buying the ZMAX make absolutely sure it's the Sigelei zmax. The SmoTech Zmax is a poor imitation and doesn't have the same quality. Realize the Zmax has a lower quality chip in it than the MVP 2. MVP 2 chip is close to the Provari. Provari is a solid quality well built APV and the huge advantage is the Vendor will upgrade or repair it for a reasonable amount...having said that if you're a collector then the buying never stops. It's not that I don't have the $$ as I still earn a very good living even though I retired at 48.
So if you want an APV that will outlast all others then buy the Provari. If you're looking for a budget APV then the Zmax is it.
Keep an eye out for blems/ blemished Provaris at Provape. Sadly they just had a sale and a Provari could be had for $155.00.
I'd aim to stay under $100 with a genuine MPT2 (which I've found on ebay with extra coils for as cheap as $14) Hubby and I put off Christmas for each other until taxes come in. I told him this morning that this is what I want for my 'Christmas' present. If I'm gonna put the money into a mod I'd just as soon end up with quality batteries and charger also. I'm a silly rainbow addict... Though I have seen some cool rainbow skins.
What I've always done is buy the Mods separate from the batts and charger. For batteries here's a reputable and reasonably priced Vendor:
These are the batts I use:
CGR18650CH Panasonic 18650 Li-Mn-Li-ion CGR18650CH High Drain 10A Rechargeable IMR Hybrid Battery Cell
    And the charger:

Just realize the batteries and charger are low quality. And yes the ProTank is not genuine. Seeing as you have another month let's see if anyone can come up with a sale. Sad cuz the Rainbow finish- all that's done is they torch the tubes before putting the Mod together.
I own the Segelei ZMAX BUT the V3 and love it. Can be used with larger 18650 batt or smaller 18350 batts. Realize you'd also have to buy a charger and batts= prolly an extra $35.00. The "cell charger" that comes with it is only used to charge form the ZMAX to the cellphone. Th positive about getting into latge APV / Mod is that it opens up a whole new world of inexpensive Mods.
Thanks... You've been a big help to me over the last week. I was just getting on to start hunting down a new battery... trying to find something different. Maybe something the length of a 650mAh battery but fatter... anything popping into mind?
You're welcome but like I said in an earlier thread the truth is you're already helping others  You already have the Spinner. Would it have to be VV?
