Thanks to @Susan~S for putting this in a thread that I could find. The different "levels" simply correspond to some accumulated number of trophy points. Someone else might know the cut-offs for each level, but I don't. I think mine went to "super" at 73 or something like that.
Bottom line, just chime in more often.

with your join date, you should qualify as a Veteran... ( takes 1 yr of "ECF membership" to be a Vet IIRC)
I imagine it's more complicated than that. Sure he's been a member since 2012, but he's only made a total of 51 posts.

In addition, in order to qualify as a "ECF Veteran", you have to have 75 posts and been a member for a minimum of 365 days.

You only have 18 more posts then wait till the server updates and you should be a Veteran!! 
When you get that Vet status, there is a secret area that you should be able to find
