Anyone soldered a 18650 into an istick30?

i thought i read somewhere that it was possible....would be cool to have a 3000mAh istick 30...

Possible, yes. Safe, no.

Using a solder iron and applying directed head to the cell of a "can battery" 18xxx can damage it, and worse cause it to vent.

What would be better is transferring the istick guts to a new box. I remember seeing a DIY 3D printed project just for doing this.
