Premature coil replacement, and care?

Hello knowledgeable guys and gals of ECF!!!

I like to switch flavors a lot, perhaps a little to often. I have read here that flavors can linger within the wicking material for quite some time. So long in fact that my habit of switching flavors doesn't provide enough time to work the old flavor out entirely. I have a bunch of extra coils for my nautilus mini and my Subtank mini. For accurate flavor I will switch out a coil for a flavor change. So I essentially have a coil for each flavor.

So here is my question!

How can I properly care for, or store these coils when they are not in use? Right now I have them sitting in a little dish of water so the juice doesn't dry up and gunk them up. Will this method harm them? Can I leave them in the water for a day or so, perhaps a few days even?

Glad to know I'm not the only one - I do the exact same thing with a dedicated coil for each flavor. People more knowledgeable may correct me, but I'm fairly certain that you are not supposed to soak or even wash the coils. I used to soak them in alcohol but that never seemed to help. I'm using Nautilus BVC coils.

I know you can atleast soak and wash them for short periods of time. People do it quite a bit to try and bring a little life back into the coil. I'm just not sure if leaving them in there for a few days would harm them. I suppose I could let them soak for a bit, wash with alcohol, rinse, and then dry and let them sit out that way.

Would still be nice to know if prolonged soaking would cause them any harm.

Somebody will jump in eventually to clear this up lol.

back in the day we used to boil our polyfill cartos to clean them out and resurrect them for refilling. Maybe try that?

I'm not trying to bring life back to them. I'm just wondering if prolonged storage in water is harmful to them. As in 5+ days.

Store in shot glass filled with VG?
I store mine in tiny (1"x1") zip-lock bags.

I also like changing flavors often, but I've switched to the Atlantis, and those coils are pricey! I wash them out w/ hot water, then use canned air to mostly dry them, leave them out on the counter for a day or 2 to dry completely. Once they're dry, I use a "days of the week" travel pill container to store them. I just use a piece of masking tape on each compartment, so I can write the flavor on it. Works great!!!

I feel like if you're gonna go to the Atlantis level, you really should just get an rta. No more coils. You'll save money. You can switch flavors with soap, water, and cotton...or rayon or whatever.

I would just throw them in a tiny zip lock bag with some vg if you worry about them drying out, but for a few weeks it shouldn't make much of a difference.
