ANTZ ready to attack Public Health England

I was overjoyed to see the British Government endorse vaping, I was thinking it will be great to see some positive press in Oz for just once.....................but oh no we can't let that happen.
There has been very few articles about this down under, and most were buried in the depths of publications, making them hard to see. So I decided to approach the chief of ANTZ ..........Simon Chapman, I sent him an email asking him to respond to the Public Health England position.

I’ve seen a very interesting assessment of the key statement in the report that ecigs are 95% safer than cigarettes. It’s likely ti be published next week in a leading glovbal health journal."

I reckon he was steaming hot mad when he banged that email back...........check out the no spellcheck.

The other thing he did was post a piece in The Conversation Australian edition (the usual garbage so I won't link it......go have a look) at 5pm friday afternoon, and the moderator closed comments instantly until monday morning.

So it looks like the ANTZ brigade are going to publish something next week to blow away the UK Government.....................now this will be interesting.

Senator John Madigan told parliament in June last year that Professor Chapman “obtained his PhD from the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine, a self-proclaimed expert in marketing and public manipulation via media sources”.

“He is a person who is not lawfully permitted to conduct any form of medical research or study in relation to human health,” Senator Madigan said.

He said Professor Chapman’s undergraduate qualifications were in sociology and his PhD looked into the relationship between cigarette smoke and advertising.

Burn, more-so because its 100% accurate...

More on this. I decided to forward his reply to Professor Linda Bauld..............the woman in the BBC interview and part of the Public Health England team, here is her reply.

"Thanks for your email. Interesting point from Simon. We fear Martin McKee has put together a critique of key aspects of the PHE report and will be publishing it soon probably in a journal that he is on the editorial board for. This is predictable but depressing. We will be doing what we can to pre-empt any unfair press but we wait to see. I did appreciate you getting in touch."
