Hi

Ive recently bought myself an old billet box - possibly rev3 - and the door is seized shut. I knew this when I bought it and paid a good price, but I'm struggling to get the door off at all. I appreciate that this is aluminium corrosion but I thought I could get it unstuck. I've tried olive oil, WD40, heat, but nothing shifts it even a milimeter. Has anyone got any suggestions?

I live in the UK so sending this back to Billet Box would probably cost more than I paid for the box, so could do with a DIY solution.

Throw it in the freezer over night, that might break it free.
If that doesn't work get a small block of wood and a small hammer. Lightly tap on the wood, placed on the door, and see if it frees up that way. Basicly you are jarring the corrosion (oxidation) enough to get the door free.
Most corrosion inhibitors, WD40 etc., don't have much effect on alum.
