Hello guys/gals, I'm kinda new here and I need your assistance please.

I just recently was able to quit smoking cigarettes after trying numerous times to quit. After trying out several different types and styles of vaporizers throughout the years, I've finally decided that I'm a mouth-to-lunger for sure and I LOVE the Nautilus Mini tank. Love it, love it. It gives just the right sensation that I require.

I've done tons of reading here on the forum and it seems like another tank I would want is the Triton Mini. With the top-filling option it only seems like a no-brainer to me. My question is this: is there a great MTL style tank that has the rebuildable coils? When I use my NautiMini, i usually use around 9-11 watts... so I don't need one that uses much more than that normally.

Mini Triton is why I quit Aspire. Now, I know the US gets good prices but Aspire are becoming a joke elsewhere. Stupid prices - I'm refusing to give them a penny (cent) ever again.
Just ditch all this overpriced nonsense and upgrade your life to fully rebuildable. Wasting time on rebuilding factory coils is just silly when Kayfuns and all the rest exist. It's 3x as hard to rebuild most factory coils. Save yourself from the apocalypse, research and find a way from the dark side young padawan. :)

Ha ha yeah, I'm new. That's why I'm here asking you guys/gals :D

So do you have any specific tanks that you would recommend that have rebuildable coils, top filling, and a nice MTL vape? The reason I mentioned those specific tanks is because I know that I like them. I don't like the sub-ohm tanks that I've tried and I like the restricted airflow of the Nauti Mini.

A Kayfun Lite plus or Kayfun mini 3 are a couple I can think of that you may like. I have both and easy to build too. I like my mini 3 better as the lite is a bit to tight for me, but great if you like that kind of draw.

The Kayfun Mini 3 looks like one I might like, looks like I might like it very much actually. Are the Kayfun clones ok to get? The authentics I'm seeing at the moment are $75-100 and I'm not really looking to spend THAT much on a tank right now.

I only have the clones and have had no problems with them, that being said I don't know how they compare to the authentic.

.25 kanthal wire (live in Europe, sorry ;) ) about 10 wraps should get you to 1.5-ish ohms. More wraps is more resistance. Or take .20 kanthal, 10 wraps and you'll get about 2.1-ish ohms. With a Kayfun, it's important you don't use too much wicking material, less is more! The wicks should just touch the deck, but the juicechannels should stay free of wick.
If you get frustrated at any point (I did when I started building), sit back, have a vape and remember, the journey is the goal ;)

I like the MTL, flavour-chasing kind of vape as well, and I can heartily recommend the Kayfun 3(+), the Taifun GT2 v2, and the Flash-e-Vape v3.

They are all regarded as slightly older (2015-era LOL) tanks now, but that's because all of the newer-design tanks have been 'big-air' SubOhm-types - not as much research and innovation appear to have been expended in covering the MTL flavour segment of the market, unfortunately.

We don't use AWG all the time in Europe but the lower the number the thicker the wire.
I said I'd report back and would not recommend thicker than 28 gauge. 26 AWG is my go to wire but (discounting later models of Kayfun) I believe that's where my problems started. Try putting 28 or 30 into the steam engine calculator.

The best way I've found to compare the Clones & Real Deal is to buy the Clones first and if I like them then I might purchase the Real Deal and donate the Clone to Vape A Vet; so even though I'm spending a little more money I can live with it since I turn around and donate it to my Brothers & Sisters in Arms.

Ok, well now I have a few more questions haha. Where is a good place to purchase wire? Oh and wicking material... what kind should I get and where do I get that as well? Are there some pre-made coils I can buy somewhere for the Kayfun Mini 3? I plan on making my own, I just think it would just be nice to have some pre-made ones laying around if i get frustrated ;)

And thank all of you so much. You have all been a tremendous help! :)

Now you're talking!
I have metres of wire but also packets of coils. People will mock but 10 coils are cheaper than 2 cigarettes in the UK. Just don't fall for the e bay sellers who buy 50 from China for $5 and sell them on 5 for $7.

This place seems really cheap on the coils. I plan on making a order for some back up coils.

I do think the kayfun 3.1 mini or 5 clone would impress you as a MTL tank. I have both and love the mini. The K5 is nice but I think the 3.1 is slightly better for taste. I have been using a nautius since they came out. Of course I tried others but always come back to the nautilus.

I get wire from Temco, about 7-9 bucks per 100' roll, depending on the gauge, and no shipping charge. I use 28 gauge, about 8 wraps, 2.5mm diameter, comes out to about 1.6 ohms.

I love rayon wick (doesn't burn like cotton), comes in a 3 lb. box from Sally's Beauty Supply. It says Graham Cellucotton on the box, but it also should say 100% rayon. I made a mistake at first and bought a small package that said Graham Cellucotton. When I got home, I noticed it said 100% cotton. As far as I know, the rayon at Sally's only comes in the large box, about $17, enough to last several lifetimes. Armed with wire and wick, a coil costs about 5 cents to make, and you can rewick that coil many times for less than a penny before you have to make a new coil.

That, and a Kayfun Mini V3 on a Provari at about 10 watts or so, I'm ecstatic.
