I thought so too. So I swapped em again w/the same results. The 4mm diameter screws are quite a bit larger diameter than the posts & the air chamber is pretty tiny. Still I wouldn't have expected this. I donno???
4mm diameter? or length? I actually trashed my stock top cap after a drill mishap (well, not really mishap... mad scientist moment gone wrong),. I do remember the screw head of the positive post sitting just below the opening for the drip tip, but it wasn't big enough to block the hole. If anything, it actually worked as a spitback protector.
Maybe the philips head screw is acting like an umbrella and causing a disturbance in the aerodynamics of the chamber, i noticed when i vape and remove the drip tip i can see the vapor inside moving circular motion like a cyclone .. so maybe thats why they went for allen screws
possibly. They work fine for me on both the stock cap and the AFC, but if it creates a notable difference to you, it isn't worth the change.
4mm diameter & length both I think. It's the ones from McMaster Carr that were linked in this thread. I'm gonna cut the diameter down on a couple & see what happens. The allen head ones are wanting to strip before I get em good & tight. Yuk.
If you want, i'll PP you a few bucks or make you some juice in exchange for the screws. I'll use em.
Thanks, but I'm gonna keep em. I'm sure they'll work great in the cyclone after I modify em. And I'm pretty sure they'll work in my RM2's as they are. And I have a zombie apocolypse lifetime supply. 
I just built a new coil for my cyclone, 32 ga kanthol with 2 pcs of 3mm silica wick, I tried a 5/6 wrap and I ended up with a 2.3 ohm coil. It works much better than the first coil I made, I was a bit surprised I had to crank it up to 6 volts, I am now trying 5 pawns grand master with it now. I am using a sealed air flow controller,to keep the juice off my battery. I think I should have done the 4/5 wrap instead, but I can now enjoy this thing.
Can someone please tell me how to adjust the 510 pin on this, mine is sticking out over an 1/8th inch and I can't seem to get it to move. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thx
