I was thinking today that my next wrap for dripping might be a single 3mm silica and a micro coil.

I have been double looping the wick but I think that's a bit to much wick for dripping only.

Anyone running a single 3mm silica wick?

If so, what are your thoughts?

I never had much luck using silica in micro coils. I've tried wrapping directly over the silica but it gets all uneven on me. Tried threading it through an already made coil. Thats a nightmare. Most recently tried using the smallest diameter silica sleeving and wrapped over that. Didnt go well either. So I stick to cotton for the micros. My normal set up is 1mm silica folded in 3 then 4 wraps of 32 awg to get me around 1.4 to 1.5 ohms.

3mm will be 1/8" mini coil on micro wraps. Should be able to wet the tip of the silica and feed it into the coil with little trouble.

If you want a true micro, do 1/16" and pull 3 strands of that silica through (will require you to miscle it a bit and feed it with wire). Nice vape, but far more hassle than cotton.

I will probably wrap one up tomorrow and see how it goes.

I find that ribbon reigns supreme on my RDA's. The micro to me is good, but not like .6 ribbon 6 wrap with two 3 mm silica wicks at 1.5 ohm

Dang man! I assume you take lung-hits? I have one setup that I use a single wide hole on a 20/21 wrap of 26g. Enough for a quick pull and tons of vapor.

Dual wides that have been widened??!! Now you have me SUPER curious. Let me see the coil setup that is fueling those Big Bad Wolf lungs!

If you wrap it on a drill bit, then remove it from the bit and hit it with a torch or lighter until red, then pinch w/ your fingers or pliers to tighten, you should be good.

Since you are using a looped silica, once you make and mount the coil, fold your silica around a small piece of wire and tug it through the coil. Will give you a far cleaner coil.

I just bought a bottom feed cyclone, I really did not know the difference, so what is the difference, just where the air hole is? I still have not used it yet, just reading up at the moment. I picked it up at Indy vaper shop, today when I was there, I was going to get a different dripper then this one, but I am glad I got it, I was surprised at how small it is. If had ordered the other one, I would not have it yet. :)

Top feed is generally used for dripping and the bottom feed is generally used on REO style mods..
