Flavors are in!

First impressions'-
Gold Ducat smells amazing!
French Pipe interesting.
Honey Flue Cured not really sure.
Glory smells amazing too.
Burley smells like something i would like.
Black Cherry Pipe has no tobacco smell at all, it's gonna need help.

We expect a full report & review on all of them, in the morning.

Better get busy!

Haha!

I wish I could have them all done and ready to vape!

I did get a few done and am open to any suggestions-

French Pipe by SC at 2.5% 65/35
Burley by FA at 4% 70/30
Honey Flue Cured by SC at 2.5 70/30
Glory by FA at 3% 65/35
Gold Ducat by IMW at 3% 65/35 (Thanks Leo)

All smelled awesome and I'm sure I'm gonna taste atleast one today! Haha

I don't get much ash from Dark, so I'll let someone else field that one. I get oak, but not ash.
Wow that whole bit about "taste is subjective" and "YMMV" can't be truer. I have to search hard past the ashiness to find the other flavors.

Let us know - I haven't tried any on this list. But I have another one to add to your list - SC Old Captain. That stuff is incredible.

Have have seen y'all talking about that one..what's the flavor like?

Gonna have to include on my next order.
I'm not sure I know how to describe it...it's definitely on the sweet-ish, smooth side, not ashy. Maybe a bit of tobacco caramel vanilla? That sounds like an RY4, but it definitely doesn't taste like that...you're just gonna have to get it! Anybody else have a good description?

That sounds like one I would really enjoy.

I mixed up 2 60 ml bottles of Virginia and Turkish they seem to be my strongest tobacco flavors, first time I let tobacco flavors steep I'm going to try the warm water bath for a few days at least. I've grown to like adding other flavors by adding them to the tank with the tobacco already in. I've notice my last batch of Virginia seemed to get stronger while sitting in the refrigerator for 3 months but maybe it's just me.

Hey, all - pretty late to the party myself. Found this thread a few of weeks ago, and it was a huge help in getting me started in diy. Found Danny's name a few times while researching, then found this thread. Exactly what I needed! I started from page one, and kept a scorecard of each time a flavor was mentioned positively (probably up to the first 50-75 pages), and the highest numbers were my first order. So thanks Danny, and everyone else, for all the help.

I do have a question about one of the flavors I ordered, though: FA 7 Leaves- All I can smell is pure Anise/Licorice, but no one ever mentions that about 7 Leaves. Is this going to dissipate over time? If not, it's the only pure loser out of the bunch, because I really can't stand that flavor, never could. All the others worked out really well so far, about one week into a steep. Especially HS Gold & Silver- that one is unbelievably good right away. Excellent, satisfying, bright tobacco taste, and makes me feel like I'm smoking a fresh one of my Dad's unfiltered Lucky's. Best ejuice hit I've had since quitting smokes 4 months ago!

Nope that anise/licorice smell and flavour will stay. Similar to several other 7leaves flavours IMO. Not a fan of it either.

Oh well, I guess 1 out of 10 ain't bad. Thanks for the info - you just saved me at least one re-wicking/tank cleaning, and who knows how many more days of waiting & shaking!

Thanks for the warning ahead of my next order, I cannot stand the flavor of anise.

And welcome aboard fellow newbie!

I gave the Turkish and Virginia warm water baths 3 times yesterday and again this morning, there should be a simple way to keep some water warm with a light bulb and speed up the steeping process.

I read that someone was using the hot plate in their coffee machine- that he figured out with the pan hanging half off the plate, it kept it 140-150. Wondering for small samples, what one of those little coffee cup warmers might keep the temp at. if it kept a coffee cup size too warm, you could always add more water to keep it a lower temp.
