edit- sorry, trying to post a link, not the sheet, but apparently don't know what I'm doing! Keeps putting media in. I'll have to learn to do that!:(
No worries; Thanks for the idea!:D That is actually one I have bookmarked. I checked it early in my research, and unfortunately, 2 of the 3 mfgs. (HS, and SC) are not listed. On rechecking just now (to see if your site was the same that I had), I was able to find the INW tobaccos, so that was certainly helpful.;)

EDIT:Never mind. I see what you mean about the link converting to media... annoying.:-x I wonder if it is because it is a Google Spreadsheet, or if it is because of all the ECF changes that are going on?

I think I figured it out; you have to highlight existing text, and attach the link that way, so it doesn't display as the actual spreadsheet. Let's see if this works: The Google spreadsheet link Brewdawg1181 was trying to attach.

EDIT: Woohoo! It worked!!;)

I have tried several tobaccos but haven't found much I like with the exception of TFA RY4 Double. I would like to try some different mixes using that as ground zero. Can anyone recommend something that would get me in the neighborhood to start?
What tobaccos and recipes have you tried and what didn't you like about them? What recipes using RY4D have you liked and what did you like about them?

I started out by buying some tobacco flavors such as Turkish, Virginia and Cavendish. For me there are plenty of just plain tobacco's that taste good by themselves and if you want you can try mixing them or just adding to the tobacco flavors. I just got involved in warm water steeping but started out using the e liquid without any steeping.

I wandered away from the tobaccos for a couple years so I can't remember what I tried earlier, I remember that ry4d was a keeper and the rest went away. Must be the caramel. I picked up a bottle on a whim and remembered how much I like it. I do a long steep and then add a small amount (<1%) of chocolate or cream to the fill bottle, let sit for a few days and fire it up. It gives me subtle variety and a nice contrast against fruits. I usually take a topper of both with me at work and go back and forth during the day. I found Bull City who looks like they have a good selection. I know it's tough especially with tobacco taste being so subjective but was just looking to find something reasonably close to ry4d to start.

Too bad about my timing, in the summer I can garage steep, it's about 120 out there most days.

Got these in my cart:

Desert Ship-HS
Virginia-FA
Turkish-TFA
Highway-HS

Hello everyone,
Have been off the ECF for a while. Happy to see it is still thriving. Has anyone heard from Danny lately?

I'm still alive and kicking. Been really busy as of late but I still pop in from time to time.

Ry4D is decent, but is really tobacco in name only. It's a caramel vanilla vape. Perhaps you don't really care for tobacco? Have you investigated bakery type stuff?

To continue on some German Flavors (GF) reviews. I got a little busy with life and had no time to sit back and enjoy anything new. Well, trying to get back on track with life so gonna review a few I mixed up over a month ago.

Virginia (GF) mixed at 3%. A nice representation of a Virginia tobacco. A little on the sweet side but has some earthy tones which reminds me of a Virginia tobacco. I find it a little boring for long sessions but that happens with single tone blends with me; they don't hold my attention for long periods. Good for a tank to change things up here and there though.

Blended Spice M flavor mixed at 5%. Whoa, this stuff is strong. Might cut it back a bit next time. I say next time because this replicates Latakia in NET form. If you ever tried Latakia, you know what I am talking about. If not, it is difficult to describe. Some say camp fire, others say rubber fire. I find it is somewhere in between. Latakia is not a type of tobacco, it is a tobacco which was cured in a way which gives the flavors; a lot of different spices in there. This one nailed it. I am vaping a tank of Blended Spice M and then going back to a dripper with Apache from Mountain Oak Vapors (heavy Latakia NET) and there's a lot of similarities. Maybe not as good as Apache (one of the better Latakia blends out there) but not far off either. Will warn though, this is one of those flavors people either like or hate. There seems to be little middle ground.

Burley mixed at 3%. This reminds me of Cuban Cigar TA (INW) but with more of a leathery feel. It has some bite at 3% but I have used it as a mixer in some blends I am trying and liking it. Not really getting a burley vibe though.

American Blend Silver mixed at 4%. This reminds me of No. 5 (HS) or Highway (HS) as it has a nutty finish.

When I first tried these, I was trying them fresh or at a week or two weeks. I was not too much of a fan. However, I found not to even try them before a month as they change to something completely different in that time. With that said, after letting them sit for a month, some are not bad. Will revisit a few from earlier and a few others I have not gotten around to yet. By the way, I used the percentages listed on the Vapers Tek site for my mixing. Figured it was a good place to start.
