Help! Need a juice that won't ruin BVC coils

I've been vaping for about 9 months now and I've went through many different cheaper kanger tanks, t3s, t3d, evod, pro tank 2 mini... I've been using a nautilus mni now and I love it...until the coils burn about 3 days later. I prime them by sucking on the tank with no air flow, and let them sit 10 minutes or so, and they vape great for about 2 days and then then lose flavor and vapor production. my nornal juice is space jam venus which is 50/50 but I recently bought some 30pg/70vg suicide bunny derailed and still had the same problem. I can't use fruity flavors as an everyday vape!! I originally used a s'mores flavor house juice at my normal vape shop, but I loved the venus but it's just burning my coils so fast. I only vape at about 4-4.3 volts or 9-10 watts on 1.8 ohm BVC coils... and maybe 4.0 volts or 8 watts on 1.6 ohm. The vape shop I go to is an established shop, codes always check out on the aspire site, and it's listed on the aspire retailer locator on their site. I'm convinced it's my sweet juices bease if I go any lower than the volts/watts I listed, it doesn't preform well at all. I use the 2nd smallest air hole for my 50/50 and 2nd largest hole on the 30pg/70vg. Should I may e switch to high PG juice? I vape it through an itaste mvp 2.0 which is also authentic.. I just purchased it maybe a month or two ago, upgraded from my vision spinner 2. What am I missing here?? Any juice suggestions must not be fruity, I can't use those daily. Venus is peanutbutter/cream/toasted marshmallow/caramel, Derailed is snickerdoodle/banana (I can stand the minimal banana but I vape about half the bottle and now I'm back to venus.) I vape about 250-300 puffs a day. Need suggestion!! Cleaning and dry burning always does more harm than good on any tank/coil combination I've tried! Considering maybe getting the mvp 3 and going with an atlantis/subtank if worse comes to worse.

Using clear non sweet liquids will help extend head life.
Sweet or dark or colored or thick juices clog wicking material & gunk coils rapidly, not much you can do about it unless you use an rba so you can change wicking material & dry burn the gunk off coils when neseccary.
Have you experimented with using more power, I usually vape nautilus bvc' between 4.8v ~ 5.4v with non sweet clear 50/50 tobacco flavors mainly.

I haven't tried using MORE power just because I was thinking using the minimum I can be comfortable with would be best on the coils. I've thought about maybe bumping up the volts, but the highest I've ever gone is 4.5-4.7. Is there a chance my coils would last longer using MORE power regularly? Or are you saying that just when my flavor gets bland, to maybe bump it up? The MVP 2.0 only goes up to 5v/11watts.

If the flavor and vapor drops off you can adjust power to try and compensate (unless it starts to taste burnt or off). As was said before, the clearer and less sweet juices will gunk up a coil less quickly.

The Atlantis and Subtank have far wider airflow, so if you are mouth-to-lung vaper they may not be what you want. If you were to pick one, I'd suggest the Subtank Mini as it would work well in the range of the mod you are interested in (MVP 30w).

And welcome to ECF!

Maybe I'll try at more power, I do notice that I will hold the button 6-8 seconds or so every hit, and I'll take several hits like that back to back. Maybe that much continuous power is burning up my coils and if I just get a good 2-4 second hit at a time at a higher voltage producing more vapor, my coils will last longer. I've just been frustrated going through 3 $4 coils in a week when I read most people can make a BVC nautilus coil last 10-14 days.

It also depends on how much juice you use in a day, clydefrog. I'm a crazy chain vaper and will go thru 8-10 mls of juice a day. Some people only go thru 3-5 mls. Guess whose coils will last longer. :p Also, the more your vapor is thick, dense, just more, the more juice you use. I save my darker and sweeter juices for the coils I rebuild for my ProTanks and Davides. I use 30 Kanthal and cellucotton.

Converted the full size PT 2's and Davides into mini type Nauti's which I also own. I've bought adapter rings BDC to Protank Adapter - Kidney Puncher and airflow controllers to retro fit these tanks. I then can use the Aspire bottom vertical coil (BVC) "Replacement" coils. These coils are shorter than the Nauti coils and cannot be used in the Nautilus; however, I now can use them in my ProTanks and Davides. Renewed life for old tanks and cheap conversion!

Hint: The teeny, tiny gromet that comes with the ring I find I don't need on the ProTank but do on the Davides.

Are you using authentic aspire nautilus replacement heads verified by entering the scratch off security code on the box into the 'checker' on their site?
Are you properly priming new heads before use?

Like stated above days has little to do with head life, mils is a more accurate measure & helpful to diagnose problems.

I mentioned power because using too low power will speed up coil gunking which leads to odd off funky burnt tastes, always adjust power to what tastes best to you, not to conserve head life or to a number someone else likes.

The MVP2 has output limits of 3.5 amp - 5v - 11w, it will not exceed any one of them.
Using 1.8Ω you'll reach the 11w max at 4.44v, no matter what the display shows it will not exceed any of the built in limits.

I use 12.5ish w / 4.8v minimum to 16ish w / 5.4v with non sweet flavors and measure head life by how many 30 ml bottles between head changes.

IMO, your choice in juice / flavorings has more to do with head life than power, sweet, dark, colored / gunky juices will kill heads, no way around it.
Using gunky juice you may only get 10 ~ 30 ml, while using a clear non sweet they might last 60+ ~ 100+ ml.

$20 for a 5 pack of heads ($4 each) is robbery, I pay $14 for them from a local B&M, you can find them cheaper through several online dealers.

Your thread title asks for juice that won't ruin bvc heads, - clear, non sweet, i have the best luck with 50pg/50vg.
The bvc is a miniature cartomizer, the wicking material is tightly packed, gunky juice wrecks wicking ability.

The subtank would be a great choice because you can re wick the premade coils pretty easy, but honestly chocolatey vapes in my experience always gunk up coils and dry burning on the pre built wicks on those usually burn the wicking if your not careful, try custard flavors or as other suggested clearer vapes, plus some vapes just gunk up coils, I always used kanger products and I went through wicks like butter 3-4 days but recently they upgraded their dual coil heads (aerotank, aerotank mini, ect and protank 3, PT3 mini, ect) and I seem to be getting better life out of them.

Ultimately, the juices you enjoy that keep you off cigs should be given priority. I wouldn't swap juice due to equipment limitations. Both the spinner 2 and MVP 2 are similar in terms of performance. The Nautilus mini tanks have, as explained already, a small carto type coil head. Have you considered trying an rba with say an istick 30 or 50?

Hello - I've been vaping for 3 years - but this is my first reply - yay!
I always monitor and record the coil life as I use them because coil life is important to me - and maybe because I'm ....?
The best juice I have found for coil life is - Toasted Almond (with 1 extra flavor shot) from the TheVaporRoom.net.
I had a 1.7 ohm carto tank last 75 ml (where as an overall average for all juices is more like 15 ml)

Hi clydefrog and welcome aboard!

I recently went through the same thing with Nautilis coils. I've been trying an experiment that seems to work. Before putting a new coil in, take a needle and stick it into each of the four air holes at the bottom and wiggle it around a bit to "break up" the wiccking just inside. It lets more juice get to the coils quicker. Im my experience, the coils have been lasting longer.

Hope it helps and Happy Vaping!
