I like the idea of the Hotcig DNA 200 with the potential to make plug and play LIPO battery packs that would be fairly economical. Price is good, chipset is intriguing, onboard charging option....$149?!? NOT bad. Trolls or no trolls, this is an intriguing concept, an original offering by a traditionally clone manufacturer. If it were SXK, Infinite, or a few other notables I'd buy with no question. But Hotcig? Mixed results from past offerings and sold a ton of iffy clones on FT? I'll wait until I hear feedback from owners, let them play guinea pig for now lol. If it has a solid build I could invest in a box system like this.

I think that Hotcig has a home run with this one. The way the battery attaches kinda like the Disrupter is the way these things should be made. Im sure they will offer battery's for sale so you can swap em out.

Looks great too :) I like the Hcigar also but it has those chrome stripes and thats too flashy for me. This one is the one for me I think.

Just ordered this. $125 is hard to resist, and it was $90 for me because I had a $35 rebate from a previous cancellation.

So in due course I'll have the VapeCige (Me Likee A Lotee), the HCigar VT200 and now this Hotcig.

It does amuse me that the HotCig comes in the same weird wooden box that their clones do :) Or a larger version anyway.

I must say I'm really liking the separate charger of the HotCig - that's a USP if ever I saw one.

I can't find any extra battery!!!

Well I don't think they've put them on sale yet. Even the mod is not yet available, at least not on FT yet - 3 more days. I am sure Hotcig will start selling them soon, they have clearly planned to do so based on the easy attachment method.

I must say I'm mystified why this HotCig DNA 200 is getting such little interest compared to others, particularly for example the similarly priced VapeCige.

It's an excellent price, and with the FT coupon at $124 I believe it's the cheapest 200 currently available. The VapeCige was briefly $114, but now back to $159, and then there's a Cigreen for $140 on 3FVape.

It has all the signs of being different and quite innovative: the only DNA 200 so far to include a separate wall charger, and the first to implement a replaceable battery system along the lines of the Innokin Disruptor.

HotCig have good pedigree for clones, both atomizers and mods. For clone atomizers I now always look for them, and consider their clones to be some of the highest quality 1:1 clones I have. I haven't experienced their mods, but I believe they're also well regarded?

The only key downside I can see is the small capacity of the battery. Though it's no worse than the Hana. And if they start producing compatible replacement batteries quickly, then it could quickly become the most overall convenient of the Lipo 200s. I'd much rather have 2 x 900 batteries, with the second charged and ready to swap in immediately, than 1 x 1500 or whatever other fixed internal capacity.

Of course there's probably nothing stopping me buying a wall charger and a second battery for my VapeCige, or any other 200 where the battery is not soldered. But looking for batteries that fit perfectly in a given chassis, and then almost certainly having to change its connector to be the right type, is hardly a comparably convenient usage.

Anyway, just curious to me it's getting so little attention versus others :) Good for me I suppose, as otherwise it would have sold out quickly and I wouldn't have got into the first FT batch :)

It's $115 from Gearbest with the code "DNABOX200W".

Has been for the past week or so :)

Ah even better! Though I don't know if I'd want to order from GB.. have heard a few too many horror stories :) I know where I stand with FT.

FT, then Focal then 3FVape are my holy trinity of Chinese vendors. I might add GB some time, but only if they offer something I can't get elsewhere.

This design change may make it harder to connect battery pack to external charger with fixed connector.

Ah do you think? I have never looked at any external RC/Lipo chargers. Do you think it will not be able to connect well to some?

However I already bought a 30cm JST-XH balance charger extension cable (that I thought to use with my self-built DNA 200, but haven't yet), so I think I can use this to help if necessary
