I don't agree that mech mods are the safest...BTW. But it usually takes a mech mod to pull the amps. The electronics get complicated......

There's a lot of talk about "hot buttons" and no other protection against shorts even with "safER" batteries. So....read up. A lot.

You can get pretty good "clouds" without going to SLR. May be more than sufficient for you, OP.
