I have AVS's 28g SS316L fused clapton wire, both in dual and triple core. Excellent wire.
I have some Zivipf 24g inbound in Ti, SS430, Nife 48 and SS316L. going to put a Ti build in the Plus and try out some TC on the Captain with the 20700B's.
Early ones weren't like that. I just got my rainbow in. Still need to test it with my AP and blazer and play around to see how its approved but yours is exactly how I told them it should beI think it is pretty apparent now that the Captain mods the reviewers received prior to final production had a press fit 510. I know DJLSB and Anthony Vapes both mentioned that to Ijoy so looks like they made changes prior to final production.
It is not a sealed 510 though so make sure and not use a leaky tank on it.

I forgot to mention that the Captain show Low Battery and will not fire when the batteries are at 3.4V. This changes the regulated current draw calculations to 6.8V instead of 6.4V, giving a little more available power before the 20700B's recommended CDA.
Also the user from the MVS FB group who claimed the widespread Captain failures was in fact FoS.

Mine are working Real Good! I don't have any technical equipment to measure TC, but from the feal & how my +'s work on Yihi & DNA chips, I would say the Captain is doing fine in TC with Titanium

I've seen a few posts regarding the Captain reading the resistance off, but mine seems to be WAY off. I have some RTAs that have a .56-.58 coils that it reads as .45 to .46. I have a few with a .75 to .78 coil and it reads these at .54 to .56. Since I do TC with SS316L, this is too far off for me to correct by playing with settings.
Yup. I pointed out it read my .54 coil at .337 it a way off. My new rainbow one isn't faring any better

I'm presently running two tanks and an RDA, all with twisted 26 kanthal. The following are the ohms read by a dna75 and the pd270:
0.41; 0.37
0.48; 0.44
0.47; 0.43
(The 0.41 ohm build has fewer wraps, different geometry.)
I then checked the three toppers on a different make DNA mod, got the same results as for the first DNA.
Net, for my stock txp 26awg Kanthal coil I get consistent bias, -0.04 ohms, for the resistance I build at. The resistance reported by the pd270 seems pretty stable in operation, only varying about 0.01 ohms while firing (within reason).
I'm still running 1.3 firmware, since I'm getting consistent operation (albeit a slightly low measured resistance). I generally kick up the power slightly compared to on a dna.

I did upgrade to the v1.4 firmware. Still no joy. It does power mode acceptably, but TC just sux. Which is a shame. I do all my RTAs with stainless and enjoy not having to worry about dry hits. I have two Aliens, two Wismec 100TCs, a Predator, and a Lochness. ALL of them work great in TC.
In power mode it really makes no difference if the resistance is off. Adjust the wattage to taste and vape on.
I know. But I want something I payed for : A working device

FYI my new rainbow one with the new designed 510 pin. 1st tank asvape cobra and .5 ohm nichrome coils. Put it on my tab and DNA both read .5 put it on the captain .37-.39 fluctuating. and i know nichrome resistance goes up a little, nope this is going down. starts at .39 and after a few hits .37. There is clearly an issue with the chip or grounding. This mod is a POS and when i do my update video I'll reiterate what a POS it is.
My Vartitube 510 connectors arrived today, they are quite nice compared to the Fat Daddy ones I am used to. I picked up two 30mm flat tops and two bottom feed versions. The black 30mm flat top would be sweet on the Captain but I really don't think there is room for it.
I though I might just as well move my Plus around on a few mods and see the resistance variations. The Plus on the Captain reads a solid 0.23Ω, it reads 0.31Ω on the Slice, 0.29Ω on the VT133 and 0.34Ω on the Cuboid... I tried my Supreme and Supreme V2 on all four as well with similar results. I know the Cuboid is way off, it always has been.
I can live with a 0.06Ω variation on the Captain and hopefully the next firmware gets stuff sorted.

I have set the TCR to 0.00145 instead of the correct 0.00138
Vaping at my normal wattage and temperature.
Sucks that some people have different results, but for me and others I see, it is a mod that is consistent.
