Is it worth updating? I am still on the original 1.1 and even though it is not my favorite mod I have not had trouble so I figured why eff with it.

That is a great question. iJoy wouldn't think to include any kind or ReadMe file with thier firmware update, so I couldn't begin to tell you what the differences are.
One thing on V1.4, the TCR M1/M2 values will only go as high as 200.

Yeah, that bugs me, how about a little info on the update iJoy.

I already know it's flaw on TC, I just adjust accordingly.

Thanks for the reply bud

Might be a problem with a shoddy 510. In that case a firmware update won't do much

It's highly unlikely that the 510 is the problem!
I can use many different 510's Evolv, Mod Crate, VT, FD, or any other proprietary 510's & get the same reading in E-Scribe.
The cheapest made 510 I have ever seen is in a VT75 Nano(all Plastic) it reads the same resistance as the best 510's (evolv) I have!

There is a guy in the MVS FB group saying that his had burnt, and another "user" claiming this is a wide spread problem. I haven't seen any more reports but only did a quick search. Hopefully it's an isolated incident and that other guy is just FOS.

This is the first I have heard on that and I hope your right that the other guy is FOS.

Wow, didn't know the VT75 Nano had a plastic 510, glad I never got 1.

As far as the off ohm readings is it consistently off? By that I mean is it always the same, just wrong?

If it is consistently off by say .02ohms higher or lower then as far as TC is concerned it should be OK. TC is only measuring for changes from cold resistance wether it be from .25 to .27 or .27 to .29 it should not make a difference to TC?

I am not stating that stuff as fact, just trying to get a better understanding so correct me if I am wrong please.

I understand that reading the ohms wrong will affect the power it delivers, just trying to figure that out in regards to TC.

I need a new firmware... My captain reads my 0.27 coils as 0.20... All my other mods reads it 0.27
Please go here and tell iJoy about this and any other software issues, and suggest that they be made in a new Firmware release...

You'll see a "Leave a message" chat link at the bottom right. At least it says "Leave a message" today, as it's the weekend and they are closed. It's a chat window that you can use. I've used it more than once. :D I've been able to chat with someone before. :thumb:

I had that with Dual Coil UD brand Twisted 24g SS316L under Firmware V1.3, but V1.4 fixed that. And I've ordered Advanced Vape Supply SS316L since then, but haven't tried it yet.

The 510 seems decent. I took the top plate off mine, 510 is held in with a lock nut, negative wire looked reasonable.

That's good. I had the impression (from Djlsb vapes' review I believe) that the 510 wasn't the best and that extra resistance/tc instability could therefore be introduced by it, but I could be remembering incorrectly.

I think it is pretty apparent now that the Captain mods the reviewers received prior to final production had a press fit 510. I know DJLSB and Anthony Vapes both mentioned that to Ijoy so looks like they made changes prior to final production.

It is not a sealed 510 though so make sure and not use a leaky tank on it.

Here is a pic of the 510 on my Captain mod:
