just trying out a kanga single coil with japanese cotton. they appear to have a better vape than the ones with the standard wick.i'm using a pro tank two. the problem is its turning my juice dark . apart from that its a very nice vape . anyway i bought 3 of them and just wondered if this is normal. i let it soak for 3 minutes before using it . i was using it at ten watts but have reduced it to 8 to see if that helps . i've had no dry hits . all replies appriciated.

It is usual from the clearomizers like the PT, PT2, PT3, T3S, and Mini PTs to show this with rebuilt and premade coils. The darker, thicker, sweeter the liquid, the more rapidly they gunk up, and that gunk seeps back into the juice chamber.
I know that this happens with Nautilus tanks as well. After 3 or 4 refills, you may want to dump what little you have left in the tank before you refill just to make it look right again.
thanks for the replies . these coils were purchased this way with the japanese cotton and i have never seen them before . a really nice vape though with no gurgling or dry hits . perfect apart for the darkening of the juice . i guess i can live with it . will be interesting to see how long they last though.
I'd open the coil head and inspect the cotton / coil. I'm betting the cotton is scorching (getting burnt brown) and that's leaking back into the juice without giving a bad dry/burnt hit taste. The ignition temperature for cotton is MUCH less than silica (probably the only redeeming quality of a silica coil in my opinion).
If that's the case then try adjusting the wattage down just a bit.
FWIW, it's super easy to re-wick protank coils. Especially with fresh cotton.
