With the increase in popularity of Nichrome 80 resistance wire, there have been a lot of questions as to what makes it different from Kanthal.

Nichrome has a lower resistance and will heat up faster than Kanthal. Also Kanthal is made with Iron, and some people notice a difference in taste. Bottom line is that it comes down to preference.
