Lavatube 3

Aloha,

I saw on your website you have a Lavatube 3 in the works that is advertised to have Evolv dna 40 technology.

Will this have a genuine Evolv dna 40 chip? Or is it a clone chip that has licensed only the "Evolv dna 40 Technology?"

Also, what kind of price point are you looking at selling these for?

A few other questions, besides the one above posted by dam718 :
1. If it is the authentic Evolv DNA 40 chip...is it the fourth version, the DNA 40D ?
2. Will the chip be upgradeable via the usb port ?
3. In order to combat the main draw that devices like the Eleaf 50W has, which is battery life between charges..and since the Lavatube is already a fairly wide tube mod...why didn't you add a mm or two in width and lessen it's height by a few millimeters..so that it could take the 26650 size battery and still not go over materials budget while also combatting the criticism that it is too big, particularly for women ?
4. Do the buttons have a lock feature to prevent mis-fires ?
5. How soon before you provide a belt holster with the Volcano emblem on it for the Lavatube ?
6. Is the contact pin copper and self-adjusting ?

Sorry too, for the late response. But mahalo for your patience and here are the answers to your questions.
1. Yes, our LAVATUBE 3 features Genuine USA DNA 40 chips from Evolv as we worked with them directly in order to utilize their chips in our LAVATUBE 3's. Our DNA40 chip is also the latest version from Evolv.
2. No this chip is preprogrammed and is not upgradeable.
3. The current design is meant for the average user and or first timers using a standard size 18650 battery, for a powerful but still easily portable vaping experience. If we had increased its size to accommodate a 26650 battery the overall size would not be increased by only 1 or 2 mm but by at least 5mm to be suitable with our rubber grip design. If users preferred the size of a 26650 battery, they have the option of using our TEPHRA 2 mech mod which accommodates that battery size. If you compared our LAVATUBE 3 to our TEPHRA 2 mod you would really see a hefty difference in size.
4. Yes the main center button of the LAVATUBE 3 features the standard 5-click locking feature to lock user settings and for the prevention of mis-fires.
5. Definitely a work in progress for us, but soon enough.
6. Yes the contact pin is a silver plated and reversed threaded copper pin that can be adjusted to the user's preference.

Btw, I have seen that Evolv now has a DNA 25 board with temp sensing...would it be possible for someone who has the LavaTube 2.5 to have one of these boards retrofitted to it with the new custom screen from the Lavatube 3 but still using the rest of the 2.5...sounds like it could be a solution for current vendors who still have the 2.5 sitting on their shelves ?

Thanks for your question CeeMee. At the moment we don't see that as a viable option due to the size difference of the screens between the LAVATUBE v2.5 & 3. But if it were possible, your suggestion is a great idea for vendors who still have the v2.5 in their stock, so thank you for your suggestion!
