Four months, no smokes!! I can only thank you guys! I would never had made it without you ((hugs))

Doctor appt was on Thursday - my lungs are CLEAR!!! No wheezing at all - the doctor says he thinks I may have added another 5-10 years to my life...I might get to meet my grandchildren someday, and a year ago, I knew I never would!
Besides that - the cholesterol med is working!! I dropped from a 650 to a 160!! So it looks like I might be around a lot longer to torment you guys!! I did gain about 5-10 lbs (which I don't like) but it is easier to lose weight than die :D I think I may be eating a little more since I quit...but not a big deal compared to the other news!!

That is great news xena, congratulations!

It also means you get to torment your grandchildren ;)

LOL, spoil the heck out of them and torment my kids is more like it!! Thanks so much! I would have never thought of any of this a year ago...it was too sad to think of all I was going to miss...but doctor, and some new hope - I know there is no "official" health studies, but well, I am my own health study (in progress) ;)

Good for you! trust me, it gets even better....you sound exactly like me a year ago. i didn't think i would see my son graduate college but i did. he graduated right at my 1 year anniversary. now i (like you) can continue to make a list of things we want to accomplish and have the hope that we will actually have the time left to do them...best of luck... :toast:

I love you guys ((hugs)) Thanks so much!! My son is graduating high school this year, and my daughter will be 9 this month - I know that my son doesn't want kids - LOL, so I have to wait until my daughter is old enough to have my grandkids (and that better be a good 15 years from now - LOL!!) I am just so happy to know I might actually get to see them - my mom passed away when Adrianna wasn't even 2 yet....and I know she has missed out on so much with having a granddaughter - I will not repeat that mistake...if they had good vape back then, I might still have my mom around - so I am just grateful for every day I get - and I want to charge the doctor from now on - I can't wait to hit the one year mark!!

My doctor just listened to my lungs yesterday and said they sound good. I know that that may not be the most scientific (stethoscope), but, I don't tire as much. really, I have noticed that the small dog that I walk5 times a day is getting a workout. :D

Yep me too!!! My JRT doesn't tire me out on the walk home anymore...I can climb steps now too without running out of breath (now if I could just find vape to fix my back and knees and I could run up those puppies - LOL)

Congrats!!

Feeling even better sounds wonderful at this point - I feel good, my only problem has been singing - it seems like I have a little more trouble controlling my sound and I sound kind of different, but I definitely don't feel as winded!!

Yes. As your vocal chords have become softer that they were used to be, you are dealing with new chords now. But these are better than older. Just give it the time. You will understand these newer vocal chords, softer, tender and capable of producing better modulations. But by habit, you are using the old style effort, in terms of techniques and energy. Should be OK in six months. Good luck with your singing

EDIT:

Non smokers suppose to better singers. And, you may need to adjust your scale, bit upper. It's is just a guess. You know it better :)

Hi xena222,
I am glad to hear all the good news from the Dr...congratulations on the vaping results. I my self have a Pulmonary specialist Dr App't coming up
on the 28th of this month. I hope my news is as good! I Just started vaping in June, and suffer from emphysema so am hoping I gt the same news as you.
I know my lungs will never get better but I am hoping that the vaping keeps me off analogs to save what I have left.
JIM
p.s. I will post the Dr response here on the forum
