New Gear and Washing ?

Hi guys,

about to have my new vape delivered to me and I wondered if you guys wash or rince your coils when you get a new vape (along with the vape..) to remove any impurities. Is it feasible?

I heard horror stories about oily material left in there and other bad stuff.

I wash new clearomizers/RTA's/RDA's but not "stock/factory" coils.

It depends - my tootle puffer plastic GBC's, I just rinse out with hot water when they first arrive in the mail. But my RDA's sometimes arrive REEKING of machine oil - so I wash those with some Dawn dishwashing liquid before I build on them.

Rinsing out brand new factory-built coils isn't necessary, and getting the wick wet with water would dilute the flavor of the juice.

Yup, like @Susan~S, I will disassemble and wash my tanks/RDAs. Depending on the stock coil, you could drop them in some unflavored vodka or pure grain alcohol (but not necessary AT ALL)

I might disappoint lol. Only got a small K1 Tank from Aspire with BVC Coils of course.

So from what I get no need to wash them right? Just the tank?

Whenever a new tank arrives, I disassemble it & clean it with alcohol, rinse it, dry it, & vape it.
An ultrasonic cleaner comes in real handy.

Not rubbing alcohol, no! And no to the coils - they should be ready to vape.
If you want to use alcohol, you need Isopropyl - it evaporates clean...you can get it on Amazon.
Or you can use Grain alcohol. Or you can use vodka!

But honestly, even though I have that stuff, if I want to wash a new tank or dripper, I use hot water and dish detergent. Then rinse A LOT.

There have been some new tanks that had a "machine oil" flavor to them through cleaning, boiling, and alcohol - but finally came clean with a little soap!

I never wash the coils, only the tank and base, I just use dawn dish soap, sometime with some plastics will react to rubbing alcohol and turn cloudy. Train beat me to it.

The good manufacturers clean their products in an autoclave before they sell them, from what I have heard...

My device is not an RDA though. Just a regular Glassomizer
