Due to an outbreak of flashing signature graphics, we noticed that there was no Rule preventing animated sig gfx, and amended the Rules immediately as a result.
From Saturday May 15th, which is more than a week ahead, no animated sig gfx will be permittted. We regret this but otherwise the site risks being turned into a fairground and this is not acceptable.
There are three main reasons why flashing gfx will not be permitted:
1. The quality level of the site takes a dive and it starts to resemble a children's party site.
2. The single biggest complaint about websites in some surveys is flashing gfx. They aggravate a large number of people.
3. They ruin the accessibility score for a site, as moving and blinking graphics are not allowed.
The subject of avatars is next, but as yet undetermined. Flashing avatars will be deleted though.
