When my son took the Reo and RM2 he left me his Patriot and I decided to mod it for bottom feed. The center pin is a just a push in type. The bottom has a hard plastic insulator and the top has a rubber gasket to fill the center well. I decided that I would not use the top rubber gasket and would cut the grove with a dremel so that it was in the inner well but not above the deck as seen in these pics.

Made two coils with 10 wraps of twisted 30 gauge kanthal that came out to .7 ohms. I also opened the two air holes to 5/64.

Comparing it to the cyclone with AFC cap, I would spend my money on the Cyclone AFC combo since it provides better flavor. I imagine this because of the smaller chamber.

Looks good. I finally purchased my cyclone/afc my tumbled grand. Can't wait! Vape mail is so exciting.

I think you're going to like it. With the air holes wide open it's a lung hit required, vapor beast that's not harsh at all.

Wow, thats the best pictorial on how to mod a Patriot RBA mod. Can we have this in the stickies or something?
Thanks and I hope it helps some decide to give a go.

On the Patriot the center pin just pushes out, it's the Vicious Ant stuff like the Cyclone and Divo that are threaded. It was very easy and it drains wells. I use much shorter tails on the wicks now and it squonks fine however, it's a large deck at 22mm and takes quite a bit of juice to fill and rise up to the coils. So a long squonk, about a 10 count, but it drains very quickly.

Many people just install the RBA straight on and never have a problem. The RM2 ships with an o-ring that sits in the well and has a inner diameter that is just bigger than the 510. This o-ring seals against the bottom of the RBA and the well. I've also found that a drip tip o-ring placed on the 510 threads of the RBA seals very nicely and makes a nice tight fit so the RBA does not loosen at all.

None of these tricks work for standard attys or cartos that have an air hole in the connector area, for that you need to learn the blind squonk.

I was inspired by this awhile back, so I did the same with some minor tweaks.

Here's day 10 on a dual micro coil, triple twisted 32 @.6, airholes @ 5/64 after it's first dry burn today. The triple twisted has put out some great flavor and full cloud saturation. The patriot really shines at lower ohms and is perfect for the hits i like to take. I made two channels and left both insulators in. The deck drains practically dry and there is no leaking from around the 510. It's great for messing around with diff coils and configurations because of the added room, but it gets to feel too rich, like eating cheesecake all day.
