I'm in no way an expert, but Tobacco flavors are something I've been trying my hand at a lot lately, and they're a tricky mistress, to say the least. Tobacco Juices seem to be very sensitive to flavor balance, and I tend to use multiple tobacco flavors for the tobacco base in the
juice. As on their own, they tend to not be too great and need molding. I've also found that the Tobacco flavor is more of a base for the rest of the mixture, so as not to be overpowering. Ethyl Maltol is of great importance to me in these flavors, as it really smooths out the edges.
That being said, Tobacco Absolute is a godsend - a potent one at that. You get a 1 ml vial of Tobacco Absolute that needs dilution in the form of one drop per 5 ml. After that, your juice only needs 1 drop of the diluted mixture per 3 ml to give it a good tobacco bite. On top of that I play with a few drops of other (less concentrated) tobacco flavors to further sculpt the underlying flavor.
The Juice I'm working on now is a Menthol Tobacco mixture. I've got it to a point where I really like it, as I recently moved up from 3 ml batches to 12 ml for further testing. I'll do my best to give the recipe, though it might be off a tad since the recipe isn't actually in front of me right now (I'll edit later if I'm wrong). I do my flavoring in "Parts," which in the case of my measuring methods in a 3 ml sample is drops, though can be easily modified if you need to mix by ml measurements (20 parts in a 10 ml sample where you want 15% flavoring would be .075 ml a part; or 10(a)/(b) where a is the decimal percentage of flavoring and b is the amount of parts required)
3 ml
Nicotine content as desired
PG/VG approximately 80/20
1 Part Tobacco Absolute
1 Part Maple Rum Tobacco
2 Parts Bevarian Creme
1 Part Vanilla
1 Part Caramel
2 Parts MTS Vape Wizard
1-1.5 Part Crushed Menthol Crystals
1 Part Ethyl Maltol
All Flavor Apprentice except the Tobacco Absolute and Maple Rum Tobacco (Which I believe is Flavor West). It's a nice, smooth Menthol Tobacco with a hint of sweetness. If you take out the Menthol Crystals I'm confident it would still be a good mix, I'm just a DIY Menthol Junkie.
I'd love to hear what other people have for Tobacco Flavors
