USB ports, no will need to bring a charger that can plug into a electrical socket. As far as smoking Carnival only allows it in outside areas, your room, cigar bar, and the casino. I would imagine they restrict vaping in the same way but this is just a guess since the last cruises I've been on I was a smoker.

Have fun! I haven't been on one in a year or two but love them. What ports are you going to?

I've never been on one before. I think it's Carnival. Can I expect to find USB ports located throughout the ship? Anything I need to know? Smoking areas? Vaping paranoia?
TIA
Take a shower cap to cover the smoke detector in your room while you vape. Dont forget to remove it after so no one sees you are doing that.

It's the Eastern Caribbean. Lots of ports so I don't expect to be on the ship much. From my scribbled notes; St Martin, Cazumel, Aruba, Carico, Nasa, PR.
I'm not a cloud chaser so that won't be a problem. I do like the shower cap idea though. I'm traveling with a relative so it won't be a smoking room. I can't stand the smell of those anyway. I didn't want to have to drag extra charging supplies if not needed.
I have to do some research. I've never been on one and am wondering how you go snorkeling, shopping and zip-lining in one day off the boat. What do you do with your stuff??

As far as excursions you usually pick one or two per port. They tell you how long they will be in port and you choose one or two that fits within those timelines. Just make sure your back on the boat at the designated time cause they will sail without you. As far as your gear if your going snorkeling or something I would leave it on the boat and try to make it back on the boat to grab it before a dryer excursion.

If you vape in your room just do it in the bathroom... the rooms are tiny anyways and the bathroom is well vented.

You won't find USB ports anywhere on-board unless it's a brand new ship. Plus most folks don't use their phones and use of the on-board WiFi which ridiculously expensive. You are on vacation... lose the phone and forget the net.

On port excursions many of the venues offer lockers for your stuff... but then again other than taking some cash to blow you are on vacation so leave the phone locked up on board along with all your other valuables and just go have fun!!

Ahh, didn't think about cell service. I'm going with my 81 y/o aunt and was thinking about getting a cheap phone for her in case we went separate ways. Maybe that won't be an option...

Talk to your cell phone company and they can make sure they work on a cruise. My parents cruise frequently and I have to take care of our welding shop while they're out of town and that is how we stay in touch, they can activate worldwide service for the duration of the trip. At least Verizon does.

I set the alarm off twice on a cruise ship. Their detectors are super sensitive. First time was breathing on it being stupid on a 2nd exhale. 2nd time vaping With the door wide open and a strong breeze at full speed.

Best do it in a shower or do the towell trick in rooms

They had a smoking section but even at full speed it stunk so i just vaped outside where ever so long as it was outside.

The captain could also clearly see our balcony and seen me vaping a few times when we were docking.

Maybe bring a disposable or two.

Yes, maybe be an good idea but the disposables aren't performant as our "weapons". :(

Although, is better that nothing.

Well, I asking myself: for smoke-detector aren't "vapors" those that make the shower like the "vapor" of ecig?

In other words, if I'm washing myself for long time and the bathroom being like a sauna (or bathroom steam), what is the behaviour of the "smoke-detector"?

Aren't same thing? That is, how do it known that I am vaping and not i'm washing myself??????

Perhaps. Better than your gear getting stolen, smashed or drenched for those occasions.
