  • I'm going to write to Kat at velvet vapors, (she's been quick to respond in the past) and ask about what blend would be good for me. Hopefully she can help. Your concerns about pure VG would best be answered by Kat from velvet vapors. kat@velvetvapors.com. From what I've seen so far, she tends to be very clean, organic, and responsible when mixing her juice. The website leads me to believe she would have exactly what you're looking for. But just to be sure, you can write and ask yourself.

Keep me me posted, and I'll let you know what she says about my own dilemma.
    Cheers!
My vaping has been ok I guess. I got my blank cartos from azsmokefree.com. They work well and are reasonably priced. I got a battery from lecig.com, and it is quite powerful, (much more powerful than the red dragon batteries.) I got my liquid from velvetvapors.com, and they're not really what I had hoped for. (Not because they're bad, but I'm still experimenting with what works for me.) The juice is way too harsh for me. I ordered the 'velvet blend', which is 65/35 pg/vg. I can barely take a puff, and it hurts my throat. And that little puff I take produces no smoke, only pain. So... I think it's just a matter of pg/vg levels. I'd like a little throat hit, but not too much. I prefer much more vapor.
Yeah, it's a delicate business, all this testing with nicotine levels and whatnot. Good to see you jumped right into making your own juice though. That's pretty cool. I can't wait to get started on my own, but I'm still a few months off from that.

A close friend of mine is a molecular biologist. He and I are going to do some experimentation in the upcoming months. He has access to all kinds of lab equipment. Our long term goal is to actually make juice that 'feels' more like an analog. You know, that "ahhh" feeling of relaxation. We'll be trying out all sorts of unique/untested compounds to try and reach that goal. I'll keep you posted if we make any progress. Hopefully we don't kill ourselves in the process by creating something too toxic for human consumption, lol.
One of my red dragon batteries is defective. It worked ok the first time, but now it simply will not recharge. I'm sending it back, as they say they'll replace it for free.

I also bought another battery from LeCig. It's black, so that's cool. Something a little different. I was going to buy blank cartos from them as well, but they only had white in stock, and I wanted black. I ended up going to azsmokefree.com for some blanks, as they have a good reputation from what I've read. They only had brown, but whatever. I just didn't want white. I'll let you know the quality of the items I purchased when they arrive.

    Hope you are well!
Wow, sounds great Bass. French Toast, huh? Mmmm!

How do you like the 9mg nic? What are you used to vaping? I'm on 6mg now (using the cartos that came with the red dragon kit.) But I got 12, 18, and 24 juices from velvet vapors that I'll try out as soon as these first cartos go empty.

Does 9mg get the job done for you?
I hope I don't have to constantly drink something forever while vaping. That would be a real pain in the ...., especially with how dry it gets in the winter. I really hope there's a nice pg/vg ratio that works out for me. Time will tell.

That's cool you play bass. What kind of music are you into? I play acoustic/electric guitar. Here's a link if you're interested:

I've never been to Minn, but I might be coming soon. You familiar with curling? My team and I are pretty decent. We made it to club nationals last year. This year, the club nationals are in Mankato, so if we defend our east regional championship, we'll be headed to Minn in early March.
After about 30 hours of vaping experience, my throat is quite dry. That's one negative thing I noticed. You think it's just the PG that's doing this? I hope so, because maybe I could switch to mostly VG sometime soon. The thing is, I do like throat hit. I don't want to give up that feeling, although I don't like the dry feeling either. I hope there is a happy medium somewhere, with a good throat hit and no dry feeling.

I havent noticed any dry spots on my skin, just in the throat. When I get my 65/35 from velvetvapors in, I'll see how that goes, and adjust from there. I just sent an email to Red Dragon, asking what their pg/vg ratio is in the cartos they provided in the starter kit. I'm hoping its like 80/20, so that my juices from VV (65/35) will be an improvement.

Where you from Bass? I'm from upstate NY.
Glad to hear the Dragon it's working well for you. I like mine so far. I've only had it for 24hrs. I smoked 2 analogs during that time: 1 this morning, and it was good. Then 1 at lunch, and it tasted awful. I think they'll start to taste even worse as I vape more, so that's a good thing.

Since I'm so new at this, I haven't made any juice yet. But I have researched and looked into it a lot. A friend of mine and I will be making some very soon. I just purchased some premade juice from velvetvapors.com

Thanks for the info about cartos. I was planning on using lecig anyway, so I'm glad to hear you have a good experience with them. I'll put an order in soon. Before I do though, I was planning on re-using the cartos that originally came with my Red Dragon. I was going to use the boiling method to rinse them. (Yet another helpful youtube video.) Do you re-use cartos? Or just buy blank new ones every time? If so, what method do you use to rinse them?
    Hello Odyssey,

I do use the Red Dragon to vape with. I think that the quality is very good, and I am actually impressed with this e-cig. I don't use any specific mod at the moment.

I am starting to make my own juices, but I just realized that I am having a few reactions to the PG base liquid. So, I just ordered some VG based liquid from cignot.com. If that works in my favor, then I will be purchasing some VG from Capella.com They are a good food flavoring company for DIY in my opinion.

Oh, and I purchase my blank cartomizers (808-D2) from LeCig.com. I receive my orders usually within two business days. I found their cartomizers to work really well. I have been using the "condom" method to fill my blank cartomizers.

do you make your own juice?
    Hey Bass,

I can't remember, but you're also vaping the Red Dragon, yes? I'm pretty sure that's why I friended you, so we could throw ideas back and forth.

How's it working for you? I got mine in the mail just yesterday, and it's been going ok so far. You making your own juice?
