    Nicotine Comparisons

Very similar, except the mixing temperature ;) However, the patent example was for 20mg/ml, as they increased the nic % they also increased the CA % (eg for 30mg/ml, they added 0.71g of CA)

Nvm, I buggered up the original calc  I was reading a patent today where they mixed 0.47g of CA, 0.2g of nic, and 9.33g of 30PG70VG together at 95C for an hour.

All Things about the Eleaf iCare & iCare Mini

On that ^^ note; I've been experimenting with different sized holes in my ICare coil rebuilds. Up to this point, 1.6ø holes closest to the thread end leaving the bottom holes standard appear to be working very well with 50PG50VG nic salt juices.

    Coppervape BF Mod

It's a right hand thread, which means you turn it anti-clockwise to loosen clockwise to tighten.

    Yeah, I don't know either :D Cheers mate ;)

Cotinine? My daughter can't stand the TH/burn of high % nicotine juices in her ICare; lower the nic % and she chain vapes yet she never chain smoked.

    Nicotine Comparisons

@mikepetro Re heating ... I have had a word with a chemist mate, and even though he isn't an organic chemist he did advise that if heating the nicotine to not go above about 60C. Also, the reaction between the nicotine and the citric acid should occur at room temperature, so "we" should be...

    Nicotine Comparisons

There are methods, but none that I can conduct as a DIY'er. Suffice to say if I started with 45mg/ml (for a pod like device), I'm not going to end up with more than that  I have a titration kit, doesn't work on (what's commonly known as) extracted WTA either.

    Nicotine Comparisons

You may well be on the right path with that Mike, but maybe the nicotine and acid require heating to form the salt? I don't know, as chemistry lessons were a long time ago ;) I can feel an experiment coming though :D When we talk about nicotine degradation, what does it actually degrade into?

I wondered where you were getting your figures from ... then I read a relatively recent US Patent

    Nicotine Comparisons

Which one mate, the 0.5% 24mg, the 1% 48mg or the 2% 72mg diluted to 1% 36mg? And I take it they were all benzoic acid, not citric acid?

I have a Solo on order from one of the Chinese suppliers ... ETA sometime this year :D

    Nicotine Comparisons

Welcome mate ;) This is the reason I didn't use benzoic acid ... I couldn't find it locally as a powder and I had citric acid powder in the cupboard, using that previously as a flavour enhancer (albeit at a lot lower %).

    Nicotine Comparisons

I am astounded this works  I made a 45mg/ml batch using the last of my 5yo nicotine (53PG47VG), and added by weight, 1% citric acid powder. Heated the bottle on the stove using a saucepan of water to mitigate localised heating until the CA powder had dissolved, cooled and then filled the...

Tootle Puffers, Part Three! (The Sequel of the Redux)

It's funny Chels, as I only have had success coiling vertical (in the little ICare jobbies) using this wicking material (normal rayon and/or cotton were a fail) ;)
