It's still alive and kickin. Ugly arsed daily driver. FT Bell tank, FT drip tip, and eBay sleeve. RBA running a 32/26 Clapton at .5 ohms and a whopping 12 watts.
I made this, clamp it to the table. I think the swivel is bent, to big, or I had to much pressure on the core wire. I'd get a good 2 inches wrapped and then SNAP! Repeat until aggravated....
I finally got a chance to try my hand at Clapton wire. I tried 32 on 28 but the 28 kept twisting and snapping. I ended up getting 32 on 26 to work. These things like to jump around on ohms as you fiddle with them!! Built a total of 4 coils but lost 2 of them due to snapped core wire while...
The 1.5 Kanthal coils had either 3 slots or bigger slots, can't remember, but they wicked better than the 1.2 Kanthal coils. Obviously TC and standard coils are completely different but I think if the TC coils had more slots they'd work better.
520 really makes the juice crackle. I usually run around 450 F, didn't lock my buttons and hit the "Go" button, sounded like it was ready for lift off at 520 F. I've also found out that these little coils wick slowly with 70/30. If I let the mod sit I get dense almost choking vapor at any given...
As long as you can say I want the one on the left or the one on the right, you'll be good. Waiting on the clone reviews from the folks who have or have had the originals.
RDTAs hate AFC rings....???
I'm still excited to get my dirty little hands on mine. Something new to fiddle with. Did the vendor have a sample Belus or an entire orders worth? I hope it's an isolated incident.
Ugh, how in the hell did they create that masterpiece and then give up on the AFC ring. There's photos somewhere, maybe SC's site that show a metal band. I'm guessing that was a protytpe or rendering.
Are we there yet?
What kind of watts are you hiring it with? Slow ramp up? VG/PG ratio? How's the weather?
Sorry for a million questions across the board, still trying to learn. I've finally solved my wicking issues.is running way to light on the cotton thickness but using longer tails. Thicker wicks with...
