    The amount of sites that carry the AW batts pales compared to the Ultrafire/Trustfire batts. I mean you can't even find them on Amazon or Ebay. I wish more places carried them so there would be more price competition.

    The IMR "Hi-Drain" red series are only 550mah compared to the 'silver/black' AW li-ion 750mah. Most people are probably looking at the longevity factor between battery swaps. At least in the regulated 5v devices the "Hi-Drain" feature is less important than the time between charges.

    the only thing you have to worry about is length. I bought a set of Ultrafires and each battery is about 2mm longer than the black/silver AW's. When I put them in my GLV2 they almost totally compress the spring and its very stiff getting the cap on. They do work, but I think I might try the AW...

    At what voltage? At 3.7v most people seem to get close to all day. The regulated 5v and unregulated 6v GLV2's would be somewhat less due to the higher current draw. A charge cycle for 16340 batteries is about 2 hours.

    Unfortunately AFAIK all the rechargeable 16340/RCR123a's are made by the same 2 or 3 Chinese companies. Even if you order from the USA it's going to be a made in China battery. I wish Energizer or Duracell made rechargeable batteries in the 'specialty' sizes we use.

    Yeah I'm a smidge under 6'5" and I can palm a basketball. If you compare how large it looks in the OP's pic to mine you can see how much smaller mine looks. If I close my fist around mine only half the carto is visible.

    No its a metallic 'black raspberry' type color. The cam built into my netbook needs a lot of light and I was using a bare incandescent bulb for some fill lighting. it's just the combo of glare lighting and a so-so webcam.
