Got it, learn something new every day. Grabbed a bag and a spool of 28g kanthal, now my RBA will be fed for life. I need better tools and a good ohm meter, any suggestions?
I break stuff is my only concern with the glass. We have an etching chemical at work for glass. I'm going to experiment with a spare glass to see what it looks like. I'd still love to see Kanger add a viewing section to that sleeve,I don't have TC and don't really know much about it.
@ephilbe I'm jealous of the black buttons, gear looks fantastic! If we could get Kanger to release those stainless black sleeves with a viewing section milled into one of the vertical flutes, I'd be all over it! I'm a glazier by trade and the glass tank makes me more and more nervous everyday.
I've got the old Mvp v2, that poor thing will BARELY fire subtanks with the 1.5 coil. I'd look to the Kanger Subox setup honestly, you'll get everything you need but battery and charger. Solid setup with power enough for dripping should you feel inclined.
I haven't experienced that problem on a very old mini or a newer one, I did however get my old one flooding it's entire contents through the AFC with the vertical .5 coil.
The newer single AFC and the newest dual AFC models seem to have a longer pin, or at least it protrudes just a bit...
In my last cleaning of the trusty old Nautilus I lost the insulator, pin, and small spring to the carpet. Any chance these are available anywhere, or should I gift the tank for parts? I didn't use the tank much after getting into Kanger subtanks, but it was a pretty good back up and never failed...
Is there a spring loaded 510 available that could be swapped in? I'm smart enough to solder and dumb enough to be a guinea pig for the rest of the first gen owners.
STM read .5 which is what it read before installing the mutation. I had to slowly back out the positive pin on the mutation to make contact, so I don't think it moved the Subox connection at all.
Thanks for the heads up, unfortunately the silicone makes anything a bear to get from my pockets. I don't mind my Kbox gaining character. With as many times as it comes in and out of my pocket daily I consider the wear normal.
At that price I may try one just for grins, it'd be nice to see a...
