I often find that TemCo eBay with the free shipping has the lowest price for resistance wire
I just ordered some 29 AWG Kanthal from them
100 Ft for $7.60 shipped
UncleChuck knows his stuff
Make sure there are no sharp edges on the ends of the screws
Sand them off if necessary
Sharp edges will definitely cut into the wire and cause a break
You want the screws to compress the wire slightly but not cut into it
I'm going to check my screws right now
Thats the coil jig I use
Best one I've seen
Those nylon thumb screws are really the only way to go
I had problems with the threaded building platform hole in the aluminum body
The aluminum is just way too soft
Before I totally stripped the threads
I screwed a shorty 510 extension into the...
1.5 to .6 Ohm
Thats is a big drop
I would say the coil is somehow shorting to ground big time
Adding liquid might change the resistance ~.1 Ohm
Thats been my experience
All of the organic cotton I've seen is whitened with Hydrogen Peroxide
I don't boil my organic cotton or anything else
If it needs to be boiled, I don't use it
Peaches & Cream white 100% cotton yarn from Walmart
Alot of people don't even boil it, same with organic cotton balls
I've got a lifetime supply of both
Its good to be old
Have to change cotton and clean the coil about once a day
I've been dripping dark Halo juice that gunks the coil in a little less than a day
But it is tasty, especially when the wick and coil are clean
You do need to subtract the test lead resistance from the measured resistance with this meter
Try holding the test probes tightly together and note the displayed resistance
Do not hold the ends together with your fingers because this will put some finger resistance into the measurement
My meters...
I can not get that calculator to work at all
It just doesn't even update when I change the wire material or metric to imperial units
Looks interesting though
Bookmarked it any way, hopefully it will work for me in the future
Using Windows XP with Internet Explorer 8
Original Atomic RDA on sale at The Vape Theory (California)
They don't sell clones
$81.50 Shipped 2 day Priority
Got mine today, Its Beautiful
I'm sure its very nice
Thats the problem, its hard to figure out what size you need.
Theres also Metric and Inch sizes to further confuse the issue.
The easiest way is to take the atomizer to a good hardware store.
They are the same.
Usually the o-ring specs are given as: Inner diameter X Cross section (thickness)
1mm X 16mm must be a typo since an o-ring with an ID of 1mm and a CS of 16mm is impossible
Here is the Coil Jig I use (I'm Sure Its "Very Nice")
Has three posts:
1/16 - 0.0625(in) - 1.5875mm
3/32 - 0.0938(in) - 2.3813mm
1/8 - 0.1250(in) - 3.1750mm
The two plastic thumb screws really make this coil jig a joy to use
Haven't seen this feature on any of the other jigs...
I put one elastic hair band over the wire on all my wire spools (its a keeper)
It is adjustable and keeps the whole spool from uncoiling (total PITA)
Tie a small loop knot in the band before putting it on the spool (makes it easy to grab and adjust)
