    Coil Ohms Question

This is incorrect. With a VV/VW device, efficiency is the only thing that will effect battery life if power is a constant. Battery Life - Low Resistance, High Resistance, and Efficiency.

    30 amp batteries, worth it?

I have a couple Samsung INR18650-20R's and they are performing extremely well. So far I havent seen a 18650 that has tested better, and that includes the AW 1600, VTC3, and MNKE. Higher discharge rating doesn't necessarily mean better performance. ;) For a sub-ohm mech mod, I'd say they are...

    How low can you go!!!

Or there is the US18650VTC3's big brother. SONY Lithium 26650 Li-ion 3.7V 50A 2600mAh US26650VT Battery [SONY SE US26650VT T C11] - $9.80 : Lithium Rechargeable Batteries, Battery BMS, Pack Assembling However, it doesn't test out too well above 20A. Which makes me wonder about the VTC3 and...

is high wattage obtainable with vv?

There aren't any single battery "mainstream" devices that will go above 20W. Dual battery box mods with a buck regulator open some options up to 50 watts, or more if you build your own.

Question answered - Low Gauge Vs High Gauge Kanthal-WhichHeats Up Faster

Joule's first law would only tell us that the two coils will produce the same amount of heat energy. However, Joule's first law and the specific heat capacity of Kanthal can tell us how long it would take each coil to reach 480 °C (the point where thermal radiation becomes faintly visible)...

    Jacksonville, NC

Cant help you with vape shops, but I can offer my sympathy. I was stationed at Lejeune a few years back and loathed every minute of Jacksonville. Good luck finding a good B&M.

Glycerin Vegetable Kosher USP - 1 Quart $8.99

I received my ED PG & VG this past Tuesday. I mostly vape 50/50 5mg unflavored and this stuff is every bit as good as Wizard Labs' stuff for less than 1/2 of the price.

    New Sub Ohm Battery Chart

The chart shows the discharge curve over time. In that chart there are 2 sets of curves (5A and 10A) with 4 batteries in each set (2 V1's and 2 V2') for a total of 8 curves. Key things to note are the steep voltage drop at the left, indicating an overload condition, and that the capacity @ 10A...

    Battery storage

You should store them at 40-60%, or 3.6-3.8V. If you store them too low, they can self-discharge to under there minimum voltage and might not re-charge. Store them too high and it stresses the battery, shortening it's life.

    New Sub Ohm Battery Chart

Lygte-Info has them in the comparator but the full review doesn't seem to be published yet. http://lygte-info.dk/review/batteries2012/Efest%20IMR18650%201600mAh%20V1%20%28Red%29%202014%20UK.html From what the comparator shows, it's comparable to the AW 1600 but falls off at the higher...

    Which battery?

Battery safety isn't something you can quantify. That's one of the reasons that safety is such a hot topic around here. The only good answer to the question is: Neither...a battery is only as safe as the user.

    New Sub Ohm Battery Chart

Efest needs to take a serious look into thier ratings if they are saying 20A. Even 10A is WAY too much for these. If I were to make a recommendation...5A would be the limit until there are some tests showing better results. Above 7A is getting into an overload condition.

..., are these batteries for real?

No sense of adventure? :D I didn't get a reply from LG Chem, but that wont stop me from ordering a pair and doing my own tests. Probably wont be until after the holidays though.

    Orbtronics Batteries Rock

Not likely. I searched for a good while trying to turn up any info on Panasonic purchasing any part of Samsung SDI and could find anything. Panasonic purchasing Sanyo is pretty easy to find. So unless it was a very low key, under the table, deal that somehow got zero media attention, I'd say...

    First 0.00 voltage drop mechanical

Hmm...There is a LOT of info missing from this. What's the source of this info? How were the test done? What's with the 6.90V? There is no such thing a zero voltage drop when we are talking about battery powered mods. If you leave the battery out of the equation and only account for the...

    Orbtronics Batteries Rock

Are you sure you dont mean Sony? Panasonic did buy 50.2% of Sony a few years ago, but i didn't see anything about deals with Samsung. If Panasonic was a majority partner with Samsung, there probably wouldnt be a contract battle between the two for the Tesla Roadster.

    advanced batt question

The spreadsheet that I liked in post #13 does a lot of the circuit analysis for you, but it's only as good as the inputs. The resistance values can make a HUGE swing being that we are dealing with milliohms and only specialized meters are accurate at that resolution. Resistance actually...

    Battery Charging Frequency

Memory effect has only been confirmed in LiFEPo4 (3.0v Li-Ion) batteries, and the effect is drastically different than the traditional memory effect of NiCd batteries. In LiFePO4 the effect is easily reversible from charge to charge and the true effects are irrelevant to our use.

    Battery Charging Frequency

It's pretty hard to screw up when charging a battery for a regulated device. The battery protection features will limit you from over-discharging the battery; usually cut-off is @ 3.2V. 3.8V is very early. If you have to go out of your way to recharge at that point, there is no reason to do...

    Mechanical mods and voltage drop

Experience and observations can be subjective, misleading, influenced, and biased. Physics cannot. Please read the last paragraph of the article where you found that chart. Conductivity is proportional to cross-sectional area. Even through Stainless Steel is a poor conductor, you can...
