    Gripper Discussion

Efest 2000mAh are good batteries and will do fine in the gripper. Personally, not my first choice in batteries, but that holds no weight against their performance. If Panasonic CGR18650CH's didnt exist then I'd look towards the Efest's. The charger you have has a 500mA charge rate...

That charger is going to be pretty slow. I'd assume 6-8 hours for a 2000mAh battery.

Firewing, Nothing in the mail today. Tracking hasn't updated since the 18th. Also, if someone were to conduct an audit of my Karma, I'm petty sure its still in the red. Working on it though. ;) Plantvr, What charger are you using?

    Variable Voltage and Resistance Question

As long as watts is unchanged the battery drain current will (ideally) be the same no matter the voltage or resistance. Law of Conservation applies: power in must equal power out. The only variable is the efficiancy of the device.

    Phoenix/Chalice Vertical Cotton Wick Setup

I have a handul of clones on the way and I'm looking forward to thier arival. I've been a cartomizer only guy since the beginning. I have 2 ViVi Nova's that if rebuilt just about every known way with mixed results. Best results with cotton yarn but still not as satisfying as a Boge. Anyone...

    The Bolt

Just to clarify a little bit, anodizing is non-conductive. Anodizing is just a fancy word for rapid and controlled oxidation. Electrical current passed through an electrolyte solution (acid bath) produces a thin layer of oxidation. The oxidation binds the free electrons (the ones that that are...

The picture would verify the chart in post #44 with Vrms taken into account for the output wattage. Post #43 has become moot with the exception of showing at what point the voltage starts to flatten out in the higher settings. Calculating the Vrms is fairly easy for the Gripper. Vrms =...

    Gripper Discussion

A tutorial will be no problem. I have a soft-spot for the Gripper. I really liked mine when it was working. I just thought it would be a shame to let a $50-60 investment go to waste for a small repair with a part that can be donated from a used cartomizer. I don't charge anything, just...

You could send it my way. I'd feel bad letting you scrap it for what could take me 20min to fix. If that is all it is, I could have it back to you in a couple days. I have plenty of spare parts. Send me a PM if you are interested.

    iPhone variable voltage mod

Don't bother trying to fit a connector inside. Leave the headphone jack intact and make a stereo-->510 adapter. ;)

It sounds like the center post is shorting to the connector body. How tight are your screwing you atty/carto/clearo down? My connector was pretty shallow, meaning that I could not screw anything down all the way without stressing the rubber isolator under the center post. They are known for...

Li-Polymer 3.7 volt Rechargeable Protected Batteries and smart wall ChargerNOT Li-ion

LiPo's are used in all the mini's, eGo's and eGo style clones. Using LiPo's is no different that using any other battery...you MUST know the limitations of your batteries and proper procedures for using them. All LiPo's require protection circuits. Hobby grade LiPo's are capable of very high...

    Just For LM2596 Users

It would be easier and save some space if you lift pin 5 and wire it in like TomCat showed instea of using an external MOSFET.

    Question on OKR-T Mod

These regulators have input and output cap's onboard. They do quite well in filtering out the noise and buffering the batteries. I measured a 100mV ripple on the output and the input voltage ripple was also quite low, but I don't remember the number offhand. Here is output of a naked OKR...

    I need a cheap 18650 mod

Contrary to popular belief....the Kick is less stressful on the Bolt's (or any other direct drive device) wiring. So not only is the Bolt capable of accepting a Kick, it's good for it too.

    How Accurate?

The numbers are accurate, the color coding...not so much. It is a good starting point, but ignore the colors. It you find that you like more than 8.5w then don't let the chart stop you. Many vape well over 8.5w, some well into the high teens.
