    good 1-10k thumbwheel pot?

I like Piher trimmers. I get them from Mouser. Digikey doesn't carry them. Look in the data sheet for the part number for the thumb wheel, or there is also a shaft so you can add a knob.

    *Delrin*

My delrin/polycarbonate genesis is nearly done. I've put a piece of 2.5mm ID stainless hypodermic tube in the wick hole to shield a bit of the heat.

IMR or PROTECTED batteries in VV's?

A word about boost regulators (warning: techy info inside) http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/316428-ohms-mahs-volts-oh-my-8.html#post6751438 The biggest mistake that I have noticed is that many people will calculate the output amperage and assume that it is the same...

    Longest Lasting Battery for Lavatube?

Skip the protected version, it isn't needed for that battery. Plus it makes it longer and probably won't fit in your lavatube without leaving the end cap loose (so I hear). Go with the flat-top. If you want to save a few dollars, Google "Panasonic CGR18650CH" and look around at different...

    Longest Lasting Battery for Lavatube?

Voltage conversion and conservation of energy. 8.1w output = 8.1w (plus efficiancy losses) input Total input power = 8.1w / 85% efficiancy = 9.53w 9.53w / 3.7v = 2.58a More detailed explaination in this post...

    Longest Lasting Battery for Lavatube?

About 2.6 amps from the battery, assuming a loaded voltage of 3.7v and 85% efficiancy through the converter. Simbo, you don't have to use an IMR but you will get the best performance out of a boost mod, like the lavatube, by using a High drain battery. My vote goes to the Panasonic CGR18650CH...

So can you vape during bootcamp?

If reality's name was SSgt Coleman, and instead of a smack to the face, it was a kick to the chest......YEP!....that's the moment.

The 6AMP Beast is Here- Smoktek Smokbox Varicool 6amp USA Mod -Review

There is a huge misconception about what is and isn't PWM. PWM is a function, PWM is not a category to lump a device into based on its output. ALL switching regulators use PWM. The regulator adjust the output voltage by adjusting the length of the "On" pulse; the pulse width. The pulse width...

The 6AMP Beast is Here- Smoktek Smokbox Varicool 6amp USA Mod -Review

I've been in a few of the RMS topics. The link that Tom posted explains it pretty well. The main take away is that with a pulsed voltage you are getting a really high power for part of the time and little or no power for part if the time. Vrms is the calculated DC eqivalent voltage of those powers.

The 6AMP Beast is Here- Smoktek Smokbox Varicool 6amp USA Mod -Review

Very nice, Tom. Thank you. If you get to playing around with the meter some more, I'm curious of the measurements in these parameters: Peak Voltage Duty Cycle Frequency Since my Gripper went belly up, I've ordered 2 OKR-T6 regulators and some other goodies. It's about time to christen the new...

    IMR Battery Question

False. The best rule of thumb is to know your device, juice delivery method, and batteries....and the limitations of each. They all affect the limitations of the others; ie: don't use an atty that will pull 2 amps from a battery rated for 1.5 amps. Using a device with multiple batteries is not...

    just a quick question...

My best vape is powered by $7 worth of parts and a $1 cartomizer. The only measure of quality that really matters is at the end where you put your lips. High quality to you may be burnt Indian food to me.

I am looking for this tool [VIDEO]

Look for dental picks too. Amazon or eBay. I tend to use lacing wire (aka locking wire, safety wire) and bend it to what is needed.

    Ego 14500 VV E-Cigarette from Free-Cigs.com-Review

I'd assume that the Trustfire was dropping below the cutoff voltage and te regulator was shutting down due to low input volts. I've measured a .4v dropout on a couple different ICR battrries. Also, at 3.2v (under load) the regulator would be trying to pull around 2.8a from the battery.

    Gripper Discussion

I have nothing to sell. :) Shapeways is a 3D printing service. I submit the design and make it open to the public. You can go to the design and order it straight from them. All you are paying for is the printing service. There could be a possibility of a Co-op. IIRC, the price drops when you...

    Gripper Discussion

Well my hopes of transplanting into another enclosure have gone south. The enclosure I bought is a little too big for my liking. Cutting to length is not a problem, circumference is. Just not comfortable to hold. I'm looking into 3D Printing to replicate the Grippers case...

    IMR vs. Protected Li-ion

For 3.7v mods, I really like the Sanyo 2600 cells. They have a very flat discharge which means you will get more consistent voltage for longer time. I think Intl-Outdoor drop ships from china, but its a hell of a deal. If you are set on ordering from RTDVAPOR, then the AW 2600mah would be next...

    Gripper Discussion

Not trying to be the south end of a northbound donkey, but the pros and cons are in the previous 157 posts of this thread....from multiple people. Also, the Ovale V6 and V8 are completely different mods. Nothing like the Smoketech VV Gripper.

    Pics, Or It Didn't Happen...

eBay mesh. Could be just about anything for all I know. The phone did have a little help. I was trying to make a free.99 macro lens and it turned out to be a little too much. I used the laser lens out of a CD/DVD drive. I hear a laser pointer yields better results.
