    Basic battery fact needed

Arrrrgh! A Mah (mega-are hour) is 34749 square-mile hours. The capitalisation matters. I don't understand what you mean by 900mAh. That's a measure of battery capacity, not charging rate. The normal eGo chargers use 420mA at 4.2V. That should be safe, and it's probably what the battery is...

    Drip Tips?

Certainly the length of the tip affect the warmth of the vapour, and the size of the hole affects the airflow. I don't like metal or plastic, or ceramic. I find all of them affect the flavour. I haven't tried wood but I imagine that would too. I use only glass and stone these days.

Any use for 16 ga and 18 ga

Assuming it's Kanthal A1, that stuff has a resistance of 1.76 and 0.868 ohms per metre. You'd need one huge coil. On the other hand you could make a beautiful Wheatstone Bridge to measure your coils' resistance at least as accurately than any digital meter, probably ten or a hundred times more...

Help with Kanthal wire and coil making?

3mm would be a rather big wire. I think you mean 0.3mm which is between 28ga and 29ga. We don't use the American Wire Gauge over here. I wouldn't expect you to be having more difficulty than anyone else. I'm using 0.25mm right now and I've re-wicked it several times. It does take a light hand...

Is this too much for my battery...

The maximum continuous discharge rate for that battery is 20A. AW IMR 18650 2200mah 20A At 0.5 ohms and a fresh battery, you are pulling 4.2/0.5 = 8.4A You are therefore comfortably safe, and would be safe down to around 4.2/15 = 0.28 ohms (Using 15A rather than 20A as a margin of safety.) As...

    My emergency rebuild kit

The batteries and eliquid go into an eGo case that is my minimum carry, the penknife is always in my pocket. The rest fit easily into the tin.

    "Sometimes it is too much"

It may be worth trying him with a vanilla flavour. That's what my original cig-a-like used and its a fair approximation to tobacco without being close enough to start comparing it to a specific brand.

    "Sometimes it is too much"

I think he will just take time for him to acquire the new habit and lose the old one. It takes many people some time to be able to switch entirely. Regarding WTA research, here is a paper you should consider: IJERPH | Free Full-Text | Comparison of the Cytotoxic Potential of Cigarette Smoke and...

    Basic battery fact needed

In a parallel arrangement, you're putting the internal resistances in parallel, so they will be halved. Or to think of it another way, the voltage drop is the internal resistance times the current; in a parallel configuration the current through each resistance is halved and so the voltage drop...

    Battery Confusion

Assuming you build for 5A, that's 21W on a fresh battery, and it's a coil with a resistance of 0.84 ohms. By the time the battery is ready to be recharged you'll be down to 16W. That's more power than I use, and much more than 95% of vapers use, but it isn't serious cloud-chasing territory. At...

Confused: how the h3ll do I know what battery I'm actually buying?

One thing you are probably missing is that it is not printed on the battery. -- http://www.reddit.com/r/electronic_cigarette/comments/2cttd4/sony_vtc5_18650_notice_from_sony/ Pictures of a real and a fake VTC5 here: http://ukvapers.org/Thread-Fake-Sony-VTC5

True or False: Regulated box mods don't need high discharge batteries when sub ohming

This one: If the mod is regulated, it does not matter whether the batteries are in series or parallel, the battery life will be the same. It will be twice the life of the same mod with a single battery when run at the same power. With a mechanical mod, putting a battery in series increases...

    Coil wrapping math

The average circumference of a ring of wire will be: c = pi x (InternalDiameter + WireDiameter) In that distance a single turn of wire also moves from one turn to the next. In a tight micro-coil that's a distance of WireDiameter. So the length of a single turn will be L1 = sqr(c^2 +...

    Wattages confusion

Ye olde Protank single coils were recommended for use at about 5-6W. A dual coil splits the power in two, so theoretically a dual coil atomiser should take twice the power of a single coil. So 10-12W. In practice, the wicking is sufficiently different that this is only a very rough guide. The...

Problems of electronic cigarette, are they really healthy?

In that case you will get a hangover from vaping. Do you? I don't, nor does anyone else. Formaldehyde does not form at the sorts of temperatures that we use. At high temperatures it may. It may be one of those chemicals that gives us the burnt taste of a dry puff. Or it may not even be produced...

True or False: Regulated box mods don't need high discharge batteries when sub ohming

In a regulated mod, it doesn't matter whether the batteries are in series or parallel, the formula works in both cases. In series, the battery voltage is higher so the drawn current is smaller for a given output voltage. In parallel half the current is drawn from each battery so the...

True or False: Regulated box mods don't need high discharge batteries when sub ohming

All a cheap battery tester is is a volt meter. It just measures the unloaded voltage. That's enough for you to tell how discharged the battery is. To really test a battery you need to be able to pull a constant current out of it and track it's voltage from fully charged to "fully" discharged...

Problems of electronic cigarette, are they really healthy?

There are all sorts of articles all over saying all sorts of things... at least if you don't read them carefully when you might realise that they imply a lot and say less. But the medical professionals agree that electronic cigarettes are between 95 and 98% safer than tobacco cigarettes. Even...

    Basic battery fact needed

*shrug* It is what it is. It's tear resistance isn't great, but it isn't horrible. I wouldn't use any sort of rubber for a washer TBH. Even made-for-purpose anti-vibration spacers have bonded metal bits to avoid tearing forces being applied to the compound.
