I had that issue and also would scare me when I'd tip it on one of my glass tables. Simple 3x3 wood block with a hole drilled in the center works wonders. That and block the fill hole. I'm using the tip of a tooth pick for now.
I have yet to have one of my Kanthal A-1 32g coils die of natural causes. Even when repeatedly dry burning 2.0 ohm coils up to 4.5v. All my losses have been from fiddling with it or giving up on a short issue. Definitely some tuff stuff:vapor:
I have another kit I'm using to play around with a dual coil set up. With that kit I used the (24g?) wire that was included in the kit for the positive wire. But instead of going to a positive post I cut it short of the top and topped off with a short SS hypodermic tube. The SS tube is inserted...
I bought a 0-80 stud that I screwed into a tethlon tube and then slide that into the Bic pen piece. Works good with nuts and washers. For the negative connection I just took the spring pin that was included in our co-op and made a small cut perpendicular to the cut up the middle. This allowed me...
Many of us ended up ordering different items to use in place of the original parts anyhow. If I were you I would stick with it and order the parts, just my .02
Whats the general idea for getting a 400 mesh wick to wick better? Should I try a wider cut so I have more material in the wick, or do I want less? Do I use a thicker wire when putting in the pre-bend, or thinner? etc etc
I'm currently using 80/20 juice. I've had one wick that I couldn't get to...
I don't think there's any co-ops going for a new batch of SGv3s right now. You'll probably have to keep an eye out on the classifieds.
Edit to add: Dan released all the dimensions etc so if you want you can always find a local machine shop to turn the SS pieces for you.
1.6 ohm at 3.5v
Wick was cleaned up a bit fiddling with the coil the past 2 days.
Tipping has helped, but prior wicks have wicked much better. I also went down the 15% vg

I've seen some side conversations in each of the 'Gen' threads, but not one particular thread for the wick and mesh issues.
I have a SGv3 and when I bend the mesh the top arch is somewhat oval shaped. This has been giving me a hard time with both shorts and the wire being too far off the wick...

I agree McMaster Carr is a little weird in how they 'bill' you instead of just a straight forward cart like we see elsewhere. I'm assuming this is because they cater towards accounts with companies more than individuals stopping by for some washers and mesh.
I used to smoke two packs a day in my two BR apt. After living there 5 years I painted the walls and ceiling, barely smoked indoors again after seeing the difference  1 1/2 yrs ago I bought a duplex - absolutely no smoking in either unit.
I bought my first PV in March '09 and just...
Its my understanding that vapor nicotine is absorbed slower because analogs contain amonia which causes the nicotine to be absorbed much faster.
The addiction to nicotine vapor is also different from smoking because analogs contain other chemicals you become addicted to.

Vapping some Circus Cotton Candy right now, TPA has amazing flavors. When I ordered my last batch they sent some of their Pomegranate that they were working on. I see now that it's on their site.
LorAnn Pom is my daily staple vape, has anyone tried the flavor from TPA?
Some say too much eat will make the wick crumble, but I use a Bernzomatic Quickfire torch and haven't had any issues with that. I just get it red hot and dunk like the rest.
