Remember the good ol' days when you thought rebuilding would just be too much trouble and replacing 2 or 3 factory coils a week in whatever setup you thought was the shizzle at the time wasn't all that unusual? Ahhh, good times...NOT!
That's a good idea. I have a half-dozen or so old OCC coils laying in a drawer. I went and checked the little o-ring on those against the one on my RBA deck and they look the same to me. I think that should work, but it sounds like Phil has washed his hands of the Subtanks...for now anyway...
Odd. I've never had any trouble with my Subtanks. I haven't had to use them yet, but they each came with 2 spare sets of o-rings (One black set and one red set). Looks like you can purchase replacement parts HERE.
Yep. I think the pill bottles are the only reasonable way to get sterile rayon. You can get sterile rayon balls, but they're expensive. The odd thing is rayon used for packaging is required by law to be sterile in pill bottles, but the cotton lobby was able to get an exception for cotton. They...
I hope not. It shows:
Depth 4 mm
Height 20 mm
Width 5 mm
I'm thinking the O.D. is 4mm. If that's the case, the I.D. should be something like 3.4mm or possibly smaller if the dimensions shown are just rounded approximations. I bought some other pre-made coils from fasttech once and that seemed...
I just ordered these SS coils from fasttech. I know the picture shows 5 wraps, but the steam coil calculator says they should be 7 wraps. We'll see when they arrive. [EDIT] Looking at the photos from reviewers of the product as it arrived, it appears they do come with 5 wraps. I probably didn't...
LOL...I think you know I was just messin' with ya. I'm not the sensitive type. Life is too short to worry about that sort of nonsense. They told me it was healthy to have goals, so, as an aspiring misanthrope, I try to make at least 3 people mad per day.
BTW, I'm about 20 tanks in with this wick in the Bachelor (~80ml) and there's still no muting of the flavor, so it has the longevity that's typical of rayon. That's a good sign.
The problem I have is that I can't keep my lips off the drip nipple on this bachelor tank( I refuse to use the term "drip tip" in the context of wicks, balls and bachelor) long enough to rewick one of my other tanks with this stuff to make comparisons. I think I've already refilled this dude 7...
That would be great. Just make sure it's the tablets. Since everyone knows I'm barking mad, having someone affirm a rare moment of clarity would be cathartic.:thumb:
Yes it looks dry and goes nearly clear when wet, but it is bright white. The contrast in flavor between it and Sally's is pretty phenomenal though. I'll have to try it in several of my other attys to make sure I didn't just get lucky with this one wicking, but I'm fairly optimistic it's the real...
Not only that, they'll get the benefits of vitamin D. It's a win/win! Here at
Rayon Wick - Better Flow, Flavor, Longevity, and Nic Hit!! - Pt.2 we take a holistic approach to vaping. You're welcome.
Next time you go to Wal-Mart, pick up a bottle of NatureMade D3 tablets for 5 bucks. Jeremy's mentioned several times that purified sterile pharmeceutical rayon was better, but I don't think he sufficiently emphasized how much better it is. It's stunningly better than Sally's, Tidi Balls or KU...
Oh, it's good. Apparently there was a little break-in time for it to really come alive. After a couple of ml, I've made a final judgement. Y'all can do what you want, but I have my new source of rayon ( or whatever it is. At this point, I don't care what it is. ), as long as it lasts. The wife...
Well, it doesn't taste like cotton. Zero break-in time @ 35watts, but I might have just got lucky on the density. Flavor seems better than Sally's. I think we can call it a good source, but I'd like others to verify before giving it any kind of stamp of approval. I could just be having a crazy...
Nope. No off smell at all and it had that rayon glass like luster under the microscope. I'm fairly certain it's rayon. We'll see how it performs in a few hours.
BTW, this is the exact product I purchased:
The good news is vitamin D is cheap and most people, especially those who work indoors...
