Rayon Wick - Better Flow, Flavor, Longevity, and Nic Hit!! - Pt.2

I'm a newbie myself...been using rayon for maybe a month or so now. My message is just that of an elated newbie who's "clicked" with Rayon, and I think you're going to love it

I am another newbie and rayon has been a huge surprise to me. Maybe I was just lucky but it seemed to work right off the bat. My biggest take away was the squeak sound to guide you to the right amount of rayon in the coil. The tails were not so important in my tiny coils but I set up a calix yesterday and again it was working beautifully first go. I am not overthinking it at all. Squeak, bow tie and ends to the deck.

I take very light 2-3 second MTL vapes and can flood a cotton coil within a couple of puffs. Rayon seems to have eased that and only takes up what it needs at the coil.

Howdy, prospective Rayon user here, just gotta make it over to Sally's.

I think the first and biggest tip would've been to send us all over to read the first postings. I never imagined that one would have copied/created all the great FAQs in a Part 2 thread, but thought I'd check before making an .... of myself. There it all is, and it's better than most other FAQs.

Thanks ever so much, and hopefully I'll have some luck with Rayon.

Suggestion/Thought. - Do you think maybe another thread sorta just called Rayon Tips/FAQs that's updated only by the experts, and use this thread as a working thread? Or, one of you experts wanna update your signature to point all us newbies to the beginning of this thread?

I created all that on my moto g cellphone. I have considered another thread, but this has seemed sufficient, all the experts are watching waiting to give help when needed.

Thanks Jeremy et al. I actually started going through Part 1 hoping to find FAQs, etc. I reached the area where the latest and greatest was to buy those special caplets of Vitamin D for the included Rayon and decided to stop reading. I need to find the latest and greatest way you were all 'harvesting' rayon. So I headed here, read the last 5 pages, decided to post, then I checked the beginning and all the info I was looking for was right there, exactly where it should be. I reached the part where you actually mentioned about 3 or 4 different phones then figured I'd post and start from here.

For now, I'll just sit in the corner quietly observing till I have a relevant question.

Sally's tomorrow, but if I thought Rayon was really THAT much better than my virgin unbleached Japanese cotton I'd go steal one of wifey's tampons and wick that baby up . JUST KIDDING FOLKS, BUT I DID COME ACROSS A POSTING WHERE ONE OF ECFs posters does this. Plus I checked and wifey's are a 'may contain' both cotton and rayon.

Oh, it takes a bit for wicking to get it not to flood, but once you get it down, it is heaven, I am about to order another to have it as a flavor tester when I make my crispy treat recipe I wanna try

I rewicking my Serpent with the recommended Naturemade Vitamin D3 tablets rayon. It tastes great! I refilled without closing off the juice full when it was more than half full, no leaks, yay! Taste great!

BTW, I'm about 20 tanks in with this wick in the Bachelor (~80ml) and there's still no muting of the flavor, so it has the longevity that's typical of rayon. That's a good sign.

Should have potential to last longer than other types. Number one spot in opening post #6, it's there for a reason.

Where can i get Rayon?

There is a number of off beat sources we have found to obtain the fiber.

At first it was pharmaceutical bottles. Then we found Sally's/ graham cellucotton Rayon and medical rayon balls from tidi & delascos. It can also be found in eastern Europe at DM labled elbin viskose, the balls are great. Kotex U is another source if your desperate. Each of these fibers is a different quality grade and coarseness. Thus slightly different densities may be needed.

I am looking at sourcing the best quality Rayon and making it available so we don't have to hunt it down from various sources. Be on the lookout.

But still, sallys cellucotton, the most basic rayon fiber is still Rayon, other forms are slightly better but its not a deal breaker. If you can get Sally's - its perfectly fine and good and works as intended. FF massacred it into a tangled mess, and they obviously don't understand the fiber by looking at their tutorial and examples....

I rate quality of fiber in this order

1- Pharmaceutical Rayon - the original Rayon Wick and still arguably the best.

2 - DM/ elbin viskose balls & Tidi large balls

3- Delascos medium medical balls / KU Rayon

4- Sallys Graham cellucotton Rayon / FF


Cellucotton does have a slight edge in ease of use.

Something about that first picture looks like cotton to me.

If it's tablets, and like iml8 described, it's got to be Rayon. In the picture I thought the juice color may have been throwing me. If it were cotton you would see the little balls or knots of cotton in it. Poly it would look like plastic and melt.

I still haven't made it to Walmart to pick one up.. Guess I need to, maybe tomorrow. Dont want to eat my words.!!.. And hopefully they are congruent in the tablet packaging with Rayon..

I trust iml8's judgements, I think he would notice if it were cotton.
