    Altoids Smalls booster mod

Dammit Visus, now I'm going to spend more money. But really, that's awesome. Can you point me toward Craig's method?

    Altoids Smalls booster mod

@asdaq I did some (not so pretty) Dremel work around the lid and to the battery clips so it shuts like normal. A pretty much perfect fit. I don't like giving myself so little space in which to work, but I like the results. @Visus I really thought hard about picking up a round lipo for this...

    Altoids Smalls booster mod

I recently saw a site that had a DNA20 board in an Altoids Smalls can and was impressed, so I decided to make one with less of an investment by using a TI PTN04050 board. My resistor selection is based on Breakthru's schematic and want to give him plenty of credit for inspiring this design. The...

    Z-max PCB + NiMH batteries = P-max!

I finally found a Z-max PCB online. It's at Hoosier E-Cig if you want to pick one up. They also have Groove boards, which I got one of as well. That's for another thread though. Anyway, I just had to make a Puck out of it, because I just love me some NiMH mods. I built the board into a 2xAAA...

    Anyone used GE UVT020A0X3-SRZ ?

That's a good lookin' box you have there! I see why you need to take up as little real estate as possible. I'm keeping the NSR unit on my wish list after I build up all the TI boards I have on hand. I see you have two pots there. Is one for the "tune" circuit and the other for the "adjust" circuit?

Vamo v2 Repair or first box mod?

Here's my Vamo Puck if you want to check it out... http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/battery-mods/435835-vamo-pcb-nimh-batteries.html

    Anyone used GE UVT020A0X3-SRZ ?

That looks like a really impressive unit. I found another one... http://www.mouser.com/ds/2/167/NSR020A0X-36860.pdf It's obviously much bigger and a bit more pricey, but is a through-hole package for easier application in a mod. Thoughts?

    New to Dripping.

I agree that PT rebuilds are a natural step from doing a few RDA coils. I love my rebuilt PT heads. I'm thinking of picking up an A6 from a local shop because it's cheap and comes with a drip tip vs the Igo-L/S which do not. I find that 32ga Kanthal breaks off in the little post holes of my...

    A6 RDA issues?

Well I'm a little late to the party, but have you tried ditching the stock coil and making your own? Did you make sure the air hole was lined up with the coil? I'm not trying to insult your intelligence or anything, just getting a baseline for the situation. You may have to drill the air hole...

Can you measure voltage drop with a mulimeter??

Yeah, which is what the OP asked for. If we ride that train of thought to the station, you'll never get a "true" reading of a device's series resistance without a four-lead DLRO. Send me a mech and I'll use mine on it.

    The death of my mini-tanks

Those small-capacity clearomizers have such a small chamber for the coil, that they gunk up pretty quickly. I can't use even slightly dark or VG-heavy liquid in them if I want them to last. I rarely use them anymore.

Can you measure voltage drop with a mulimeter??

Hence my point about using large conductors. Doing so will add negligible resistance, thereby giving you as accurate a reading as possible.

Can you measure voltage drop with a mulimeter??

With regulated devices, you'll be getting something pretty close to the setting unless the device hits its amp limit, which is more prone to happening on lower resistances and higher voltage settings.

Can you measure voltage drop with a mulimeter??

Your best bet is building something like an inline voltmeter box like this one... http://www.stevevape.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/IMG_1461.jpg ...but without the meter. Just wire the connectors together with some fairly thick wire to eliminate voltage losses due to the length of the...

    Igo-l

As far as the original question, you'll know when to add juice because the flavor and vapor drops off. You should never really need a clear housing for a dripper.

I refuse to buy clones or fakes. Anyone else?

I'd rather buy bona fide, original sub-par Chinese junk as opposed to a clone thereof.

    Grenada

I get the citrus, but just a little. It's mostly the anise coming through, and it definitely takes over whatever atomizer you use. Not a problem for me. I have a dedicated tank for it now. I'm vaping it with margaritas tonight and it's a great combination, by the way :vapor:

You can use silica in tanked RBAs. Stainless steel is just the preferred wick material. I don't have any tank RBAs, so I can't tell you how the performance is one way or the other. I rebuild the coils on my protanks and drippers with 28g Kanthal and silica.

    gonna try drippin... But why?

These guys nailed it. Flavor and sampling are two big reasons to drip. I'll still use my tanks when I'm out and about, but when I'm home, I can drip away. Also, it's a great platform to experiment with coil building.
