I'm due for a new fluke treat, been using my trusty old 77 since 1986, had a few fuses go, a run in with a microwave was particularly nasty with my home made x10 probe. On day to day TV repairs for 20 years my fluke 12 was a workhorse, replaced the buttons, replaced the display. Still works... -

Mine arrived this morning and I tried it and went 'meh' .. however I put the same juice (gf's dekang menthol) in a brand new ego-T atty on my ProVari to side by side comparison. The revolution absolutely thrashes it taste wise, nuances of spearmint and sweetness that are not present whatsoever...- Stonemull

E2 Error and resistance
yup, I hardly used that atty as it was mainly a spare, the last time I measured it on a good meter, 1.497Ω (I stress, a GOOD meter) .. I used it for maybe one more tank from that point (on an ego 900 battery, did not put it near my Provari anymore), I went for another tank of juice, replaced it... -

Should get mine tomorrow or day after. Unfortunately .. no software comes with them any more and even if you get the software .. it will not recognise the device. So thats a bit sad as it was part of the reason I was looking at them. I have ProVari for VV, so its not a deal breaker for me now...- Stonemull

Provari first day thoughts
I think the best thing to do with LR's when you get a provari is put them aside for use on an eGo. It doesn't really like them and there is no real reason to use LR's with this device. I suspect the E8 fault you ended up with is a result of LR use. Mine throws E2's (overcurrent) on a 1.9Ω atty...- Stonemull

Been sticking to dekang juices to see how the wicking holds up. I thought the same with the juice residue shorting it, seems an amazingly low resistance though to be able to do that. It just died .. went open, which I'm not sure a current leak between coil turns is likely to cause. Might see...- Stonemull

I am pretty sure the resistance is dropping on mine, when I first got them, they where both 2.2 on my fluke, the provari when it arrived said they where 1.7 and 1.9, double checked and the fluke agreed. Now dropped to where there is no longer any point using the Provari with them as its...- Stonemull

Burnt taste with all my attys
depends what juice you are using .. evaporate that juice and see what gets left behind. Then take that residue (probably black) and blob it onto a piece of hot wire and see what it smells like. I generally stick to dekang liquids for this very reason. They evaporate quite cleanly. Get a brand...- Stonemull

its strange .. the tank atty says its 2.0ohm and the max voltage I can use without the E2 reliably is 3.7 .. so 6.8W max .. sad yet JTman's post above is getting 9.5W into an even lower resistance atty than mine. put on one of my trusty ego B attys (and it tastes awful after the tank!) provari... -

Prolly asked before but...
I'm getting pretty much exactly a day on IMR 18650, sometimes less, sometimes more. charged to 4.2v fresh off the charger and drop to about 4.15 usually. Thats ego-t atty using maybe 4ml a day. Not usually an issue s you can check the battery volts before going out to decide whether to change... -

Loving my Provari .. but.. I'm using ego-T on mine, I have one 1.7 ohm and the other 1.9 ohm, both standard ones, not rated as LR anyway. just checked atty with a good meter .. 1.943 ohms I am getting an E2 error at 3.9V on the 1.9, fresh or partial discharged IMR 18650, .. so I'm forced... -

heh, we had to buy slide rules and log books when I was a young fella, my parents owned a corner shop back then and bought one of the first calculators from a travelling salesman .. $300, the top of the line one with memory,square roots and a percent key. ProVari Variable Voltage Mod
Yeh, just a guess, but don't blame provari for that one. One of my main issues with the GGTS was the way that the centre pin slides between battery and atty. Do up the battery too tight and it pushes the centre of the atty upwards, too much and the insulation fails and you have a short circuit... -

no offence intended, but thanks for the giggle .. thats all just so wrong it is funny :) static no way .. you are a conductor of electricity, your mouth and hand are at the same potential, you cannot shock your own body with a static discharge from your finger, electrically impossible... -

funny thing .. I just checked the resistance of my ego-T atty, I have 2 .. one measured 1.7 and the other 2.2, these I double checked with a fluke 77 when I first got the provari, basically ok to 0.1 ohm. anyway .. i just looked 10 seconds before I saw this post and noticed my 2.2 ohm one is... -
what voltage/atty are you vaping at with your provari?
Feeling guilty .. not pushing the edge much here. running an ego-T (2.2 ohm) .. I find anything over 4.3 cooks it, so usually on 3.9v and drop it down to 3.4 late at night or early morning for a slightly sweeter vape. Tried a 1.8ml clearo but was decidedly underwhelmed. juice in mouth a few too...
