Try using a pair of tweezers to grab the silicon cap that rests right under the screw-on drip tip and lift it up a fair bit. Then slowly replace the drip tip. If that cap pushes down on the wicks too much it can choke them, causing less or no juice to make it to the coil. Works for me.- Cuando

It took me years to make the switch completely. Gradually, smoking will become gross to you. Smoke if you feel you have to, but don't give up on the vape.
