Well I have another Reo Grand on the way with some Reomisers and my brother was converted almost instantly when he tried mine (well lets be under no illusions it's the wife's now) and he's managed to get a second hand one in the UK with a vicious Ant Cylone.
BUT - he has 6 x 18500 batteries...
yeah same thing happens to me - I had to move all my DIY to glass bottles because the plastic tones were spoiling them at least for my palate - ..
I would totally blame my palate for this if only it weren't for the fact that 5 other people could notice it too - but granted nowhere near as bad...
handy data sheets - cheers - saved for reference :) although second one won't load - keeps timing out..
Looking at the data though - propylene glycol is not listed
but the general glycol resistance is high..and propylene resistance is poor - so it's feasible the PG could either be fine or...
My top theory at the moment is that:
[1] do not ultrasonic clean the tank
[2] Grape AND/OR Banana from TPA WILL attack and degrade the nitrile ball and cause subsequent juice contamination exacerbated if [1] has occurred
this is a bit like avoiding menthol / cinnamon etc... with certain...
Here is the obligatory photograph - It's been commandeered by the missus for today and she took the pic alongside one of her creations - gratuitous self promotion there! LOL
You might have a point there DD - it might be prudent to warn owners not to put the tanks into Ultrasonic cleaners for the time being just in case that's the causal factor :)
As you said it might have made the nitrile more porous surface wise and leach out it's contents...
I think if you can...
Ineed - he's been an Idol of mine since I was a wee pup :)
Well as far as I know - when I looked in the Mirror this morning I didn't see someone from New York ;)
Spoken with the words of wisdom - she already mentioned that before she hit the sack ;) just to re-iterate the effect of this...
well - you know what it's like when you are looking for something - and you keep buying and trying the latest brilliant most hyped products and there's always a little something that bothers you about it - it's just not quite right - not quite fulfilling enough- something that just doesn't hit...
OK ignore ALL of that I just realised that the seller sent it with the button in the WRONG way round! LOL
ALL FIXED NOW and eating a big dollop of humble pie! ;)
Hello all - I've just acquired a second hand reo grand and reomiser v2 here in the UK.
I've been itching to try out a bottom feeder for a while just to see if it is up my street - but the first thing I have noticed is that the firing button falls out at every opportunity - literally.
I've...
That was the first thing I did the first time I noticed it - it went into the ultrasonic with a dishwasher detergent solution and then a clean filtered water solution. Had no effect ;)
I've considered a steel ball bearing - but it would probably not make a good enough seal without a stronger...
Vapian - I've done everything you've suggested and yes it more or less confirms that something is leaching into the juice in the tank..
It tastes just like rubber - well not that I've ever eaten rubber - but it tastes exactly like a new hot water bottle smells when unpacked for the first time...
It's with great regret and a certain amount of trepidation - that today I have temporarily banned my wife from using her billet box.
When I first acquired it for her - I noticed after a day or two of juice in the tank that I could detect a faint taste of nitrile rubber. I surmised that the...
lower coils in relation to the air inlet tends to provide more vapor and less of a throat hit. The higher the coil gets from the air hole tends to make less vapor and increases the throat hit.
I don't like to have the coil too close to the air inlet because if the wick gets too saturated and...
you can release the setup now and squeeze the wires together with the pliers to make the fold over as small as possible
Then grab the wires with about 2-3mm of the twisted part extending and start wrapping the softer NR wire around the twist - do this about 2 times and then pull the wire...
now using the steel pliers to hold the wires put down the plastic jawed one and begin to fold the softer NR wire over the top and flat against the blunt ends of the jaws of the steel pliers...
Yopu will see that the twists be come very tight and secure...
Now get your snips and cut the wires at approximately 3mm length
Ast this stage grab your steel pliers again and pinch the twisted wires as close to the end of the jaws as you can like so:
Good quality snips..
last but not least the wires -of course ;)
Now get the two wires alongside each other clamp them in the plastic jawed pliers and have about 8-10mm protruding and splay them apart.
At this stage carefully twist them around each other about 4-5 times by hand...
