    My first attempt at DIY

Try adding 2 or 3 drops of Concentrated Lemon Juice per 5ml of your mix. It really makes fruit flavors pop, yet you won't taste the lemon. Good luck!

Sweetener or no? EM or no? Both?

Always use EM. Most other foods and beverages we consume are sweetened. Why not our juices? If you don't use it, you will taste that something is missing.

You just need to put it into perspective. Very few things we do in life are completely safe. Just thank our lucky stars that the USPS or UPS can deliver our juices to our door. Could you even imagine having to get into our deathtraps we call cars and have to risk our lives buying our...

TPA Ripe Bananna Just Utterly Killed My Tank In 10 Minutes

Okay...I'll try and shed some light on the situation. I have a background in plastic products. I suspect that the tanks you are talking about are made from Lexan or polycarbonate plastic. (As Xerox is to copy machine.) Lexan is a very highly stressed plastic. It is extremely strong and...

Apple cider, red wine or white vinegar. You can try this on the mixes you already have. It should salvage them...

    TPA Fruit Flavors

This is what I do with good results for TPA fruits: At least 3 drops of Ethyl Maltol per 5ml. Sometimes just a bit more. It really gives those fruit flavors the sweetness they need. At least 2 drops of Concentrated Lemon Juice per 5ml. THIS JUST MAKES THE FRUIT FLAVORS POP! If you are feeling...

    Vinegar?

Sure, you could do that! The sugars might not even be too much of a problem. The problem that you might have is in repeatability. Just like in making us, God doesn't make two lemons the same!:) Some lemons might be sweeter or more acidic than others. I would suggest using the fresh squeezed...

    Vinegar?

This place has Citric Acid, Malic Acid and Tartaric Acid. If I remember correctly the prices were not too bad but the shipping was just a bit on the slow side. Here's the link: The Home Brewery - Wine Making Additives I have just tried some of the juice I mixed back in Mid-January, so the...

    The impatient newbie strikes again...

When I first researched this process I learned that if you have somewhere between 30 to 40% water in the final extract, it will NOT have a really long shelf life. If you keep the water content in the final extract below 30% the extract should have a shelf life of several years. If you leave too...

Storage tips for stocking up... freezing?

Some people worry about the transfer of plastic into their liquid. I really don't think it is much of an issue IMHO. Some people also will tell you that it should be colored glass but in my experience it is already pretty dark inside a closed refrigerator or freezer. Once chilled the NIC/PG/VG...

    Diluting citric acid in PG

The metric system of measurements for this type of mixing (solid into liquid) would use the weights of the ingredients and not a measuring spoon if we really wanted to do it right. You would weigh the liquid and the solid and use amounts to achieve a 80/20 mix weight. But this is DIY! Its like...
