Then clearly this service isn't for you... :) For those of us who like getting pleasantly surprised and trying new things, it's great. I know I've made a lot of bad decisions even when I've been able to sample first, but so far everything CV has sent has been great.
Yup, Craft Vapery may have started me on that slippery slope. :) I always thought I'd look into mechs eventually just to see what they're about, even though I'm happy (still happy) with my Provaris and By Leo gear. Now I'm starting to look sidelong at other mods... hopefully CV doesn't start a...
I got a tracking number today too and since I already got my April box (they brought it with the Chuck Norris stuff) I'm hoping this is the giant bottle of Port LB. :)
I've been having fun with the King mod - a bit of a learning curve on the Kraken and still working that out, but it's great...
So what I'm getting from this thread is - almost everyone who has a Provari thinks it was worth it, but almost everyone who would never buy one/has never owned one doesn't, often only on principle and not from having any actual experience with one. Draw your own conclusions from that. :)
Thanks Mac :)
I don't know the exact diameter but it's the largest of the jeweler's screwdrivers in my kit and the interior diameter of the coil is just enough to make contact with the XC-116 without compressing it. I've used this method before in my drippers, because it allows the wick to...
It does, but it really needs a dog engraving instead. :D
I definitely am interested in brushed brass drippers - my Brass Monkee is polished brass and doesn't quite match the satin brass King.
I just can't get my Kraken to play nice (just posted another thread about it but I'll reply too here since it's XC-116 specific). I kept getting a really metallic taste, like licking tinfoil, from the Kraken so I took it apart today and cleaned it thoroughly and ran it through the ultrasonic...
Hi Kraken peeps, looking for some advice...
I got a brass Kraken as part of a giveaway from Craft Vapery earlier this week. So far I just can't get it to play nice.
Originally it was built with a single coil, SS rope and mesh by someone else and was running around 1.2. However the taste was...
I am not sure why there's this perception that you can't use rebuildables on a Provari. It really boggles the mind. You can't go below .9 on a Provari, but you can certainly use just about any rebuildable on them. I don't use anything on mine except RBAs and RDAs. Go figure...
I just recently won a Satin Brass King, a genuine Kraken, and a Brass Monkey in a giveaway. I'm enjoying the vapes at .45 (dripper) and .8 (Kraken) but sitting alongside the King on my desk right now is one of my Provaris with a By Leo Dripper Pro that hits really really nicely at 1.2 and...
Hi all, although I always figured I'd look into mechs eventually it happened sooner than I thought when I won a giveaway from the awesome folks at Craft Vapery - a HUGE package of vaping gear and building tools, but the best parts were:
Satin Brass King Mod, custom engraved with the CV logo...
It definitely lasts longer (and wicks better) if it's not too compressed and the big spacing definitely helps. I just started to make my microcoils with a larger inside diameter so the wick can slide freely for cleaning. Took me a while to figure that out, though :)
Hmm, interesting. I had a Kraken clone before and tried to build a U wick with the 3mm but it didn't work very well at all. Maybe with the genuine Kraken it will be better. I'll try the rope/readywick first and if I'm still not happy I'll try your method.
